Ryan Detrich of Schaeffer's Research provides the following chart of ETFs with the top five short-interest ratios (shares in millions):

The SIR (short-interest ratio) is the total short interest divided by that ETF's average daily volume. This is the theoretical number of days it would take to close out all of the outstanding short positions.
