Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) is expected to report Q4 earnings on Wednesday, January 30, after market close, with a conference call scheduled for 5:00 pm ET.
Analysts are looking for the internet retailer to post a profit of 48c on revenue of $5.38B. The consensus range is 41c to 52c for EPS, and revenue range of $5.23B to $5.58B, according to First Call.
Bernstein says the company's Q4 results should be aided by strong toy sales and a shift to online buying, and that Amazon should report in-line EPS. In a January 2 note, Citigroup raised its rating to Buy from Hold, and said the company has one of the best fundamental outlooks among U.S. internet stocks for 2008. Citigroup raised its price target to $119 from $95, and said it believes its results should "modestly top expectations." Stifel believes Amazon MP3 can capture 20% market share by the end of 2009, and rates shares Buy.
