I’m a Texan, in my 40’s with a son in college and a job that I love as a Procurement Agent in the construction industry. Investing initially started out as a hobby in my early 20’s after discovering mutual funds and the beauty of mindless automatic monthly investing with amounts as small as $50. I was able to invest in the stock market without having to commit to one stock. Fast forward 15+ years and a few 401k plans that left me disillusioned with the lack of investment choices, I decided I would jump back into individual stock purchasing myself. For years I jumped back and forth from the side-lines to investing, but never was consistent outside of my 401k contributions. I had previous luck with a few stock picks from past years, (along with a major loss at Enron), but was really ready to give it a serious attempt to further build up my retirement nest egg. What I didn't realize was that my reignited hobby would become a past time that I would enjoy so much. Now I spend a great deal of time reading investment books and following the works, and methodology of some of the investing greats such as Warren Buffet, Peter Lynch and John C. Bogle. My own investment strategy is to stick with income yielding stocks purchased at low value prices, Dividend Aristocrats, REIT’s, MLP’s and some cryptocurrency experimenting. My personal goal is to replace my income from work with passive income from dividends while pursuing a few passion driven side hustles and launching organic community gardens in food deserts. Thank you for reading and I hope to inspire others and continue learning. I'm always happy to answer questions and connect on various platforms.
