As a value driven investor, my investment approach is safe and cheap. I focus on investing in companies with extremely strong financial positions offering future growth at a discount. I take that same top-down approach and apply a synthesis of market implied growth rates in securities to isolate companies where existing assets of the business covers the market price. I closely monitor the underlying fundamentals of financial markets and the global economy.
Where my research typically diverges from convention is - incorporating a volatility based perspective to the fundamental analysis, enhancing the risk control in investing.
As an editor on the SA PRO team my job is to help find the best content for PRO. Seeking Alpha is full of hidden gems and bum steers. Check out some of the authors I follow. And authors, check out "The Elements of Style" by Strunk & White. Stocktalks represent my personal opinion only - links are not endorsements.
I use value investing methods to search out favorable bets in the stock market. Follow me here --->

Engineer by trade and passion. Have worked internationally for over three decades, running my own business. I hold a PhD in engineering, but honestly believe that the school of hard knocks has taught me lessons that are more applicable to my writing here on Seeking Alpha. My investing interests mostly concern the resource sector, with a focus on precious metals, base metals and energy stocks of all sizes. My research explicitly includes small- and micro-cap juniors, and I try to manage the associated risks in a methodical manner.
Some of my work is available free of charge on Seeking Alpha. If you have come to like these offerings, then please consider joining my Marketplace service called Itinerant Musings where I usually present my best ideas and provide personalized interaction.
Interested in technology and financial markets. Undergrad in engineering, MS in Comp Sci and an MBA in finance. Building tools for individual investors to make more informed decisions about the stocks and mutual funds they choose.

I'm 32 years old. I live in the New Orleans area, but I also spend significant time in Houston and Central Texas.
I'm employed in the oil service/fabrication industry.
When it comes to investing, my greatest asset is my extensive knowlege of the drilling, and oil service industries.
I've worked in the oil service sector for the last 12 years or so. I've worked for several large, wellknown oil service and chemical companies (painting and premium connection inspector), as well as smaller, private maintinance/ fabrication companies (mostly painting).
On a side note, I just moved back from Houston and it was booming in Texas, like there was never a reccesion, Nola seems to be in a depression as compared with Houston.
