I worked in market research at Proctor and Gamble, and as a systems analyst at AT &T. I also worked in healthcare. I still run a successful internet adventure in addition to being a known indie rock musician. I lost pretty much everything I had just 12 years ago when my business burned to the ground (underinsured). To add salt to the wound, Illness (faulty electrical system in my heart) nearly did me in. That was repaired, and I was very fortunate to come out with a clean bill of health and no permanent damage (100% cured). During those lean years I had to find a way to set my boat upright. My goal was to get back to where I was. Somehow, in the end, it all went way above expectations. I self educated myself about securities of all sorts and started day trading high risk high dividend stocks and options with some money I borrowed to get started again. Turned out I was pretty good at that. In the end, I managed to pay off all my debts and to come out with enough to retire on the early side, though I am still active to a lesser extent in the internet business. Now, I have had enough of the extremely high risk stuff. It's time to invest for income.
