Joe is an independent trader with eighteen years of experience in the markets. He graduated from Amherst College with a B.A. in Economics and English, before joining a proprietary trading firm in New York City called First New York Securities. At FNYS he traded international (Europe, Japan, Australia, and Hong Kong) and domestic equity, as well as equity derivatives. He specialized in ADR arbitrage, currencies, index rebalancing, and option strategies. Recently, Joe has pursued teaching. He was awarded a fellowship by a non-profit called Project Coach, which runs after school sports and literacy programming in Springfield, MA. Concurrently, Joe worked towards and received an M.A.T in Secondary English from Smith College. Today, Joe is managing his own long/short portfolio while teaching Microeconomics and English at the high school level, where he enjoys not having to wake up for the open in London.
