I am currently studying quantitative finance, computer science, and mathematics as an undergraduate. I hope to learn as much as possible about investing and portfolio management through spending much of my free time reading books and following the news.
have been in the market for two years, haven't had any big loses, and building a portfolio one step at a time, just small gains of 300 to 400 a week so far, but i love my profits, I live in Bakersfield,California. my main goal is to be financial free and not work again, while enjoying life to the fullest.
Stockviews is a tool for amateur and professional investors. It aggregates stock opinions from a variety of sources, including Wall Street, Twitter, the financial press and 13F SEC filings. Algorithms are used to ensure the information is highly relevant to the decision-making process. This project is the creation of a professional fund manager who recognised there was a huge amount of information available on the web, but limited means to filter it in an effective way. Stockviews.com is due to launch towards the end of March.

I am a former telecom engineer and lawyer who finds himself involuntarily, but happily, an early retiree. I have been investing for quite a few years and in the past focused more on speculative high growth potential stocks versus blue chips. My current focus is now more income oriented through dividend producers with some fliers in high-risk high-gain stocks for fun money purposes. I have begun to focus on CEF's and BDC's for their high dividends and relatively low beta. I also focus on Europe ( esp. Germany) and some emerging markets.
Have managed money for clients as an independent advisor since 1991. Published a newsletter ECONOMIC LEADS from 1988 to 1993. Have an economics degree from Vanderbilt University. Focus on the macro picture forecasting the US economy and broad stock market. Also have a model to estimate long term equity returns for several countries.
As a value driven investor, my investment approach is safe and cheap. I focus on investing in companies with extremely strong financial positions offering future growth at a discount. I take that same top-down approach and apply a synthesis of market implied growth rates in securities to isolate companies where existing assets of the business covers the market price. I closely monitor the underlying fundamentals of financial markets and the global economy.
Where my research typically diverges from convention is - incorporating a volatility based perspective to the fundamental analysis, enhancing the risk control in investing.
