Richard Fearon founded Accretive Capital Partners in 2000 to invest in the highly inefficient market of small and micro-cap equities utilizing his private equity expertise. Prior to founding Accretive Capital Partners, Mr. Fearon founded and managed the Chicago office of Allied Capital Corporation, a $3 billion private equity investment fund and the largest and oldest publicly-traded small business investment company in the United States, where he served from 1993-2000. Previously, Mr. Fearon spent time as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley & Co. and PaineWebber Incorporated, working in the M&A and corporate finance departments. He earned an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of Business, where he also attended the Stockholm School of Economics, and graduated with a BA in Chemistry and Anthropology from Williams College. He was a graduate of the Hopkins School, where he was a 1984 Connecticut State and New England Wrestling Champion and a National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete. I manage a sub-account and source outside investment managers for a family office with $500mm under management. I am a deep value investor and am very open minded and opportunistic in the hunt for bargains. My interests often include the esoteric - international developed and emerging markets, the smallest of small public companies, stocks that do not trade daily, net nets, stocks selling for less than net cash, etc. I am trying to become better at identifying good businesses and find my place in an age of artificial intelligence and informational disadvantage. My core competency and passion is making evidence-based, well-researched financial decisions with a bias (sometimes to a fault) for paying extremely low prices. This can take many forms - for example one of my joys outside of investing is finding bargains on personal purchases through thrift shops, Chinese e-commerce websites, craigslist, etc.
I passed the CFA Level 1 Exam in June 2017 and plan to finish the program over the next few years.

I am a dividend investor and look for undervalued investments in the stock market. I identify misunderstood and undervalued equity investments and hold those securities until their price approximates my estimate of intrinsic value. I am a long-term investor only.
I am building a $100,000 high-yield income portfolio. I am running this portfolio as an experiment to see if long-term sustainable income can be generated from a diversified pool of high-risk, high-yield securities. I am willing to accept high risk in order to meet my performance goals.
