Born In India, lived and worked in USA (2001-2010) and currently live in Calgary, Canada (2010-). A chemistry graduate with an affinity for finance and investing. Have been investing since 2005 but without any particular strategy. Learnt a lot in the 2008-09 crisis. In 2011 became aware of DGI and find it the way to invest for my personality. I like a good nights sleep so do not like chasing growth stock. Although I understand the financial statements and can possibly identify potential stocks for capital appreciation, I believe that it will be difficult in the long run, particularly in the current days of hedge funds and manipulations. Have about 25-30 years before retirement and hope to reap the rewards of compounding. Since 2011, I follow mainly dividend aristocrats and study their valuations. I do a little bit of technical analysis only to find a decent entry point. Bottom line, I like to invest in companies that I don't have to worry about if I don't follow the market for a week or two. DGI strategy accomplishes that for me. Its not for everyone, but suits my needs.
