I have been a part time stock researcher and investor since 2000, after having read the two fabulous books written by the legendary Magellan Fidelity Fund manager- Peter Lynch. I look for small cap stocks, since these are more likely to make large price moves. I can analyze these smaller companies with greater accuracy. Since 2008, I have become increasingly concerned that our dollar buying power is weakening due to policies enacted by the Federal Reserve, and the U.S. Government. The $20 Trillion in debt, largely created by the Fed-is overwhelming. By keeping interest rates artificially low, the Fed has distorted the economic process that normally works to flush out the weaker companies, and allow the stronger companies to flourish. This is what capitalism is all about, but the Fed believes it can micromanage in the form of a central planner. There will be negative consequences, including severe bouts of high prices.
