One-Stop Shop For Ideas & Portfolios, Covering All Asset-Classes & Sectors
Welcome and thanks for visiting the Wheel of Fortune ("WoF") "landing page" - the gate from which you may board and take-off, en-route towards (hopefully) making a (small) fortune, while using "WoF airlines".
Please remain seated while we walk you through the safety (risk management), well-being (portfolio management), and entertainment (vibrant community/active chat) services that we offer to all those who choose to travel (the market) with us.
The Fortune Teller ("TFT") is a well-known contributor on Seeking Alpha ("SA"), and a top blogger according to TipRanks, with over 30 years of deep and direct market experience.
TFT is an account that represents a business, run by two principles, which is mostly focusing on portfolio- and asset- management.
The people who work in and for this business are an integral and essential part of the services that we offer on SA Marketplace platform. While TFT (or The Macro Teller for that matter) is the "face" behind these services, it's important for subscribers to know that what they get is not a "one-man-show" rather the end-result of an ongoing, relentless, team effort.
For more details and our credentials - please visit the account profile.
Our one and only mission is to give a boost to both you ( knowledge) as well as your portfolio (returns). We aim for you not only to find great ideas through us, but also to give you the tools allowing you to find great ideas on your own.
To quote from our welcoming letter to subscribers:
Assisting you in making money is the only reason why we are here, yet (once we're here) it's not the only goal we see ourselves committed to!
We will try to make you more knowledgeable..., better equipped..., a better investor..., a better risk manager..., perhaps even a better person!... However, most of all, we will try to make you wealthier. It's as simple as that.
We don't only feed you, but also aim at teaching you to cook (better)!
Our aspiration is for you to get much more (value) from us than we get from you (fees). It’s as simple as that.
Don't get us wrong: We believe that you will get much more than "just" ideas or (hopefully) returns. You'll gain knowledge, you'll become a better investor and it's very likely that you will simply enjoy being part of our lovely (and lively) community. Nonetheless, all of those are bonuses and we still aim at you making money before, regardless and on top of making new friends or learning new tricks.
In a nutshell, we offer specific, targeted, actionable trading ideas, covering all asset-classes, across all sectors and industries: Common stocks, Preferred shares, Bonds, Options, Commodities, Currencies, etc.
We look at the service as a "One Stop Shop"; a place that offer you both (single) ideas and diversified portfolios. A supermarket, if you wish, that contains various sections and many aisles, where you can find a large, unmatched, variety of products/ingredients, allowing you to pick the ones that best suit your taste and (financial) needs.
It's important to note that our "supermarket" offers both "ingredients" (i.e. single, uncorrelated, ideas) and "prepared food" (i.e. set, diversified, portfolios).
If a wide variety is somewhat confusing, you can always walk to the "prepared food" section, where we run two, well diversified, portfolios. In this section, all you need to do is to pick the food/meal that satisfies your appetite. Simply choose and eat, with no need to look for a recipe, or cook at home. It's ready and it's tasty!
There are many shelves in this supermarket, stoked with hundreds (!) of products, so once you know your way along the aisles (after one or two visits/weeks) - it's very easy to find what you're looking for.
We don't come up with ideas every day, but when we look back at the service activity since it was launched, we generate about one idea per trading day, on average.
Our supermarket is always stuffed with plenty of products, and there's no chance that you get in and come out empty-handed. There's something inside (our supermarket) for anyone, no matter from what type of outside (background) you come!
Each idea starts with a trading alert that lay-out the investment thesis but also set the basic trading parameters (price, risk rating, maximum allocation, etc.)
Then it becomes part of our Trading Alerts Directory ("TAD") where all ideas - since day one - are tracked, monitored, and measured. This file (we refer to it as the "bible" of the service) holds a wealth of (both technical as well as fundamental) data, including links to the original article related where the trading alert had been presented at.
In addition to the TAD, we run two portfolios (in parallel):
1. Funds Macro Portfolio ("FMP"). This is a macro-oriented, predominantly long (always net long), portfolio, comprised of no more than 50 ETFs and CEFs (only!) positions.
Suitable for those with no time/knowledge/desire to constantly and actively follow the market and/or manage their own money/portfolio.
The FMP is relaxed, slow-pace, and easy-to-digest in nature, requiring very little attention/low maintenance from the subscriber's end.
The FMP is the portfolio we run on Macro Trading Factory ("MTF"), our second service (which ,as you may well understand, only represents part of the WoF supermarket's prepared food section.)
2. Single Macro Portfolio ("SOP"). This is a micro-oriented, long only, portfolio, comprised of no more than 25 positions, all are single equity names.
Suitable for those who are passionate about the market, actively (and comfortably) trading, wish and able to remain on top of their portfolio on an ongoing basis.
SOP is relentless, fast-pace, in nature, requiring a relatively high levels of attention and maintenance from the subscriber end.
On top of Trading alerts, Articles, TAD, FMP, SOP, and the ability to reach us freely, there is an active chat room, which is filled with above-average persons and investors.
This isn't only a great group of people, but a skilled-knowledgeable group of investors. We've visited most of the leading services and when we say "above average" it's not only based on a first-hand experience, but it actually goes to more than just (above-average) knowledge .
Why do we say "above average"? Because WoF is not an easy service to digest. It's loaded with material, and many ideas, of all sorts and types, are being "thrown" at you. Some trades are simple, others - more sophisticated. As such, if you are not a person who is willing/looking to learn new things, or if you're a person who is looking for something more simple/relaxed - there's really no reason for you to subscribe for the WoF. For that we have the MTF service, featuring the FMP.
However, if risk (management) is important for you, just as the (potential) reward;
if you want to know how to cook your own meals rather than only eating outside;
if you know that you know (some of it) but also that you don't know (all of it);
if you aren't afraid to try new things, new people, new way/s of thinking; and
if you understand that making money is important, but making money while taking a reasonable risk (to get there) is even more important - then WoF is perfect for you!
If you think that we try to scare you away - you're somewhat correct. WoF isn't for everyone, and truth is we don't want to see everyone riding on the Wheel either. We want to retain the very special atmosphere of the service. This can't be achieved with thousands of subscribers, not because we don't want to, but because we can't.
We believe that when it comes to the number of subscribers, quantity may come on the expense of quality, simply because the more subscribers a service has - the more noise it suffers from, on one hand, and the less attention we can give to subscribers, on the other hand.
It may sound a bit arrogant, but we genuinely believe that with great power comes great responsibility. And with too many subscribers - we (will) feel less attentive and less responsible. We've been there (serving thousands of clients), done that (on various platform), so it's not just words of mouth, but a hard-learned experience.
This service is about actions, not about words. We provide specific/focused/targeted trading ideas, not general/lengthy/academic articles. We offer our vast experience, expertise and knowledge in order for you to potentially enhance your trading techniques, investment methods, and returns.
Many people wonder what is the difference between the free section to the paid-premium service. We think it's worthwhile spelling this out right here:

Getting to read the pieces we publish on the Wheel of Fortune is another, completely different (and much better...), thing; an experience that takes you to a whole new, advanced and improved, level!
Have no doubt: We put our subscribers first. Always!
The best ideas are always presented to them first, and in most cases don't find their way to the free section at all.
We appreciate that there are many services available for you on the SA Marketplace and beyond. It's hard to choose the right one for you and many struggle to do so indeed. We believe that our service is unique/different in four main ways:
1. SCOPE/DIVERSIFICATION. Our universe is unlimited. We cover all asset-classes, in a constant search for the next great idea. While we focus on income-generating (dividend-paying) ideas - we don't limit ourselves to a certain segments, types of assets, market-cap sizes or sectors.
Our scope is much wider than vast majority, if not all, services hosted on this platform. Consequently, we're confident that no matter what type of investor are you - there will be plenty of ideas that suit your investment profile, needs ,constraints, and goals.
2. PRACTICALITY/FUNCTIONALITY. We offer specific-actionable ideas/suggestions that you may trade, and hopefully make money out of. We sell neither theory (general views, thoughts, opinions) nor words (lengthy articles that mostly excel in being...lengthy)!
The service is very trading-oriented, so you may expect hundreds of ideas a year, every year, out of which we hope that you will embrace at least some; those that suit what you're looking for.
3. TRACKING/MEASURING. We follow up on each and every idea that we ever suggested. We will tell you not only when we believe it's a good time to start a position but also when might be a good time to exit.
All trades (since day 1) appear on our TAD and you can easily and quickly find everything that you need to know about the idea/symbol you're looking for, including a link (directly from the TAD) that will take you to the original article we wrote.
4. RISK MANAGEMENT. We don’t believe in miracles and we don't sell miracles. We won't promote a 253% total return on stock X over the past year, or a 127% return over only 6 weeks on stock Y. We can (do it), perhaps we should (do it), but this isn't the way we'd like to promote our services.
Such returns indeed look great on the surface, but they also (most likely) mean that the risk associated with those phenomenal returns was/is high. Very high.
If someone sells you a fantastic return (on a certain position), you must assume that there are plenty of -60% or -50% returns that go along with it. We're simply not there; neither in the triple-digit gain, nor in the double-digit loss.
We don't boast about 100%+ returns because we hardly ever have any...but we hardly ever have -50% either. We work differently. Instead of selling returns we sell portfolio and risk management services (going hand-in-hand) and a risk/reward approach.
Instead of talking about the potential gain we rather focus on the possible pain. Risk management is at the very core of our activity, so if you only care about how much money you make, rather than how safe the field you need to cross in order to reach that very same money - we're probably not a good fit for you.
This is what we think, but how about what our subscribers think about us?
You can see all the reviews that the service has received at the very end of this pitch, allowing you to judge for yourself.
On aggregate, Wheel of Fortune has a 5-star average review, a result of 54 reviews that gave the service 268 out of 270 possible stars (Data as of March 31st 2020).
Wheel of Fortune will offer you investment ideas that we deem attractive from a risk/reward perspective. These ideas are spanning across all asset-classes and sectors.
We don’t expect anyone to adopt each and every suggestion we come up with. Instead, we expect subscribers to embrace those ideas that suit their goals, needs, time horizon, risk aversion, etc. We strongly believe that Wheel of Fortune may enhance your portfolio from both (higher) return and (lower) risk perspectives.
Please note that we no longer offer a free trial mainly because we believe two weeks isn't enough to experience/judge a comprehensive service like WoF. We want you to stick around for at least one month and if you're serious about investing, and if you're genuinely looking to give WoF a shot - you would/should be willing to pay a fairly low fee.
The best, cheapest, way to experience the service is to subscribe to the yearly plan. Not only does this plan allows you to keep your subscription going (if you're happy with what you see/get) without the need to do anything, but the yearly plan also allows you to cancel your subscription within the first month and still get a refund equal to 11/12 of the annual fee. That way, you will be paying a significantly smaller amount compared to the fee you'll pay if you subscribe for WoF using the monthly plan. Don't say you haven't been warned!
If we are unsuccessful in making a positive change to your portfolio and if you don’t think that we add (value) to you more than you pay to us – we would be the first ones to encourage you to leave.
We are here to make money for you and with you. Nothing more, nothing less. If it’s only for the content-words – there is really no need to pay us nothing.
You are most welcome to join us - and over 200 other subscribers - in spinning the wheel.
More on what you may expect from the service can be found under our welcoming message, but in order to read that you need to subscribe first. Once you subscribe, please make sure to read it, as it will guide you through the service, ensuring that you settle in ASAP.
We are looking forward to welcome you to the Wheel of Fortune, giving us the opportunity to be service.
We are looking forward to contribute as much as we can to your (portfolio) health and (financial) wealth!
I am about to enter my fifth year of membership with Wheel of Fortune and it took all of 5 seconds to decide. Without a doubt, this service has both made me money and saved me money by educating me on macro economics of various sectors as well as deep dives into the viability of individual companies. He is quick to respond to personal messages as well as providing timely updates on current market conditions. In addition, the yearly premium is one of the best deals on Seeking Alpha among all paid services. Yes, I have tried other services that were 2 or 3 times more in price, but I always found myself going back to Wheel of Fortune!
If there's one thing we learned in the biotech sector in 2021-2022, it's that "macro matters". Trust me, as I learned this the hard way getting overconfident in a bubbly environment while doing too little to protect my downside when the macro signs were clearly showing that the music was ending. What I appreciate about TFT, particularly in the bullet points of his articles, is making sense of the current market environment and putting all the data points together in a way that a simple guy like me can understand. While I focus primarily on company specific analysis and long term time frame for investing, it's still comforting & helpful for me to utilize TFT's analysis to decide when I want to deploy more cash for DCA purposes and when I wish to be more defensive, holding off. Lastly, I feel like I'm learning a lot from a market veteran (30+ years experience as I recall) whose experience is evident in his analysis and connecting the dots (and in turn makes me feel more informed on a weekly basis). Cheers and thanks again for the effort you put day in and day out for running a high quality service to benefit investors who follow you.
Amazing knowledge of all markets and interest rate movements. Weekly coverage of the total market along with many recommendations. Enjoying it all, and the chat room too! Always available for advise and suggestions from other subscribers. I am learning and still experiencing new ideas and market views in the ever changing investment sector movements. The usual Monday articles sum the current market temperature and offers quality charts/ graphs. Allows for me to sit back and enjoy investing.
I've learned ways to make money that I never imagined. For example: selling PUT options, then buying them back or letting them expire. Once upon a time I was sure such activities are way too risky. Now I know how to augment my income a bit with options, because of TFT.
But options are just a small part of this comprehensive service. Other benefits I haven't written about are very wide-ranging. That's a reason I chose Wheel of Fortune, unlike all the narrowly focused services. There are educational articles, well-written trade explanations, quick answers to any question you might ask, recommendations from Nikolaos Sismanis, a separate Portfolio of Exchange Traded Funds that I still haven't fully taken advantage of after 2 years. It takes way more than 2 weeks to "get your PhD" with TFT.
Ironically, if I hadn't been so sure options weren't for me, I could have learned one-on-one with a successful friend who traded options. He traded other people's accounts, did financial work for me for 8 years, and offered to teach me so his knowledge wouldn't die with him. But I had no interest, til after he died. Luckily, I found an excellent teacher in TFT.
Fellow members in chat are delightful, highly knowledgeable, and helpful. Choosing this service was one of my best decisions ever.
The Wheel of Fortune brings together a superb team of investment advisors with an extraordinary community of users to create an ideal lifelong learning environment on investing. Everybody in the chat room is mutually supportive -- which helps a lot on those unavoidable days when you take a beating from Mr. Market. The very gifted individuals who created and now run the service combine extraordinary investing acumen and a thorough grounding in virtually all investing techniques and strategies with an unsurpassed ability to mentor, and communicate what they know to, subscribers. Some days in the chat room feel like a 24/7 floating seminar on the markets. The Fortune Teller and his team are incredibly responsive to questions and outstanding at teaching and mentoring.
Some other high points for me. Ever read through those annoying articles on investing where you have to wade through a ton of fairly useless verbiage to get to a not very persuasive bottom line? On the WofF you get articles and notes with a very high signal-to-noise ratio. The posts from TFT and his staff are all substance; there are no wasted words involved -- ever. The WofF staff are able to do this because they understand that a picture is worth a thousand words, and the exquisitely well constructed graphs and charts that regularly feature in their notes easily trump the over-written and under-researched material one gets elsewhere. I would also note The Fortune Teller's profound understanding of the psychology of investors and policy makers. He never shys away from probing the psychological factors underlying the decisions of CEOs, central bankers, or hedge fund managers. I have learned a lot about how the Fed's Board of Governors thinks from his posts.
If you are a skeptic regarding investing services, I would urge you to try the Wheel of Fortune. Your portfolio will thank you and you will probably stay forever. We'll be holding a place for you in the chat room :))
I'm young and don't have enough money invested (~$25k) to take advantage of some of the strategies commonly used at WoF, but my few months with the service have already been highly rewarding both financially and educationally. I could not be happier with how the service has contributed to my personal growth as an investor. I have to parrot the two points that many others have said: 1) The Fortune Teller is extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, attentive, and kind; and 2) The community of subscribers and the exchange of ideas within the chat is worth its weight in gold. If you're like me and don't have a ton of money to allocate to the trade ideas, I definitely suggest at least taking the free trial and getting a feel for the service. And get to know The Fortune Teller while you're there. He is a goodhearted man and will listen to your situation and talk to you honestly about whether the service could be a good fit for you. Come and see for yourself!
Yes you will receive trade alerts and ideas. Yes, they won't be limited to just one sector/strategy/asset class. And yes, you will benefit from it and when executed right make money, much more than what you would be paying for the service.
However, as important, if not more, is you will also receive insightful commentary on "why" that alert and how it might play out. Overtime, that is a lot of accumulated "trading wisdom" that will serve you for many of your investing years to come.
Perhaps the most appealing part here is taking a point of view on the macro direction (justified with many, many charts), discovering opportunities that fit that point of view, and providing execution steps. You will discover patterns from a series of trades over time, and also possibly learn to identify them yourself.
my rating: STRONG BUY.
I was only a dividend growth investor and only purchased dividend contenders and above. My eyes opened after being on WOF. I am now buying puts, calls and stocks I would never have considered, even precious metals. It took over two years to reach a more comfortable attitude with this new style of investing to me. The analysis on the buys is clear and accurate. TFT will answer any of your questions about any of your concerns about a purchase or sale. I have been with many brokerage houses and left them because I was able to do better on my own. Now I have upped my game thanks to the WOF family.
I highly recommend the Wheel of Fortune service to anyone looking to improve their returns and investing knowledge. My personal experience has been profitable, and educational. I have a deeper understanding of markets, options and importantly risk management, however for those who wish to just act on buys and sells it would serve you well.
The lead moderator,The Fortune Teller, has a brilliant mind, easy to understand manor, with the heart of a teacher, and the patience of a saint. He sets high standards for the service, and it shows.
I tested a couple of paid services on Seeking Alpha and this one is clearly the one I prefer and would recommend. The Fortune Teller is ALWAYS available to answer your questions and will ALWAYS provide a clear background/reasoning to justify its trading advices (that you may or not follow). In 2020, with the help of the Wheel of Fortune, I was able to enjoy a lot of good trades and a few exceptional ones.
Excellent service with unique ideas that all kinds of investors are more than likely to appreciate and find value. The community is quite active, and TFT is always happy to answer any questions and jump in to share useful insight! Join, and you will soon find out for yourself!
This service is extremely useful and provides lot of ideas, a vast majority of them extremely good. Of course not all ideas will be actionable for everyone, and I pick and choose (not necessarily the best ones, I have to admit, since I am not very interested in options), but the service, despite the unavoidable occasionally misses, paid for itself up to the end of my life, which I hope still far away. What is particularly interesting is the capacity to generate ideas on a large spectrum, TFT is not a "specialist" in love with its specific sector but is able to help you arbitrage worldwide among all sectors as "macro trumps micro" (his words). In addition risk is much taken into account, which is good (although it might limit gains, as I experienced by hedging too early). Last but not least, most ideas are very different from mainstraim ideas, and this is particularly interesting. A compelling subscription indeed. I wonder how TFT finds the time to write all this stuff, which is in lively style, follows the very active chat and generate all these ideas. Of course he is not alone and there is a team, but nevertheless congratulations for the service and let's hope the Show goes on for a long time. May I add that I used to be the general manager of a Financial Research house many years ago (well 20 years ago), and I am still a shareholder of a Pan European Research house, so I am able to recognize a good professional, and TFT is not just a good professional, he is an outstanding one.
I've been a part of WoF for three years. I find this service (and The Fortune Teller) to be thoughtful and targeted in its approach toward investing. WoF has made a definite contribution in my approach to investing. I have added numerous recommendations into my dividend-growth approach and have found it easy to incorporate into my plan. I can't recommend Wheel of Fortune highly enough!
I renewed The Fortune Teller recently as I have found the service to be exceptionally valuable to me in improving my investment results. I have been actively investing sine the 90s but have learned so much in the first year here – I can point to numerous specific investment strategies that I would have never considered had it not been for TFT’s guidance that have significantly improved my results, with less risk. Many services focus on one area of expertise (i.e. REITs, HY, BDCs, etc). The amazing advantage of TFT is the wide range of investment recommendations one can use to fit any investment climate and risk tolerance. Recommendations change as the market shifts and the result for me has been the opportunity to shift my investments to what will work best at that time. Responsiveness to questions has been great, the tools make using the service easy, and the chat room is a wonderful exchange of ideas in which we subscribers learn from each other. I can wholeheartedly recommend The Fortune Teller and I look forward to my second year with the service.
An excellent service always, a lifesaver in troubled times.
As I approach my 1 year anniversary with The Wheel of Fortune, I can honestly say that my knowledge base and comfort level has expanded exponentially since I joined the service. I've gone from strictly buy and hold to writing options and hedging my portfolio, all in the name of making money! The macro perspective from The Fortune Teller is top notch, even when the information is going against the way the market is moving. I don't know where I would be in these uncertain times without his guidance. In normal times, we are picking from the shopping list and in these hard times he is teaching and guiding by examples, yet never leaving us hanging or without guidance. The responsiveness in the chat room is A++. I would highly recommend this service to anyone!
I have learned a lot and continue to learn as a recent subscriber of three months. The service provides great macro and micro views from an experienced perspective, which gives guidance on how to shift sectors and handle risk management. This can be helpful during a bull market but especially during a difficult market and the "day after". I feel more confident in hedges and protective measures but also in focusing on what and where the quickest recovery assets will be. The chat is so responsive to questions and advise and I value it daily. During a difficult time, I doubt I would trust any others more than this service! Looking forward to the future despite the current challenges;-)
I have been following Wheel of Fortune for about 2 months, a 1-month trial, a few weeks just the chat, and a few weeks as a subscriber. During approximately the same period, I’ve been following 4 other Seeking Alpha Services. For the last 12 months, I’ve also been subscribing to 3 services that provide market timing signals as well as following 3 other free timing signals. The last month was a good trial for all of these. Of the Seeking Alpha Services, I’ve found Wheel of Fortune to be the most useful, and therefore plan to follow it going forward along with several of the market timing signals. I like Wheel of Fortune for the following reasons: (1) Focus on Risk Management; (2) Sense of Confidence the Author has been doing this across multiple growth cycles; (3) What I expect to be able to learn as an investor; and (4) Sense that the author is looking at the big picture across asset classes. Of the services that I follow, this is the “most difficult one” because the author uses puts and calls and shorts and other hedges, which are outside my experience, but these are things I want to learn. Generally, I like to spend a significant amount of time (6 months to a year) before allocating any significant funds to a strategy, so this review is premature, but given all that has been happening in the first half of 2020, I’m providing an early review because I think Wheel of Fortune is a service people should check out.
I joined in August 2019 based on recommendations from other subscribers. To date, I've been very impressed with the amount and quality of information TFT provides to me. He also does very well on his choice of trade recommendations. One of his recent picks that I purchased has already covered his annual subscription fee by a factor of 2!.
I like the "supermarket of ideas" approach that this service provides. This allows me to select the ideas that will compliment my existing portfolio. Recommendations include insightful analysis as well as risk assessment. Always learn something new from the articles. The subscription paid for itself in the first trade.
I signed up for the free trial here a few months ago after considering it for over a year. I was looking for ways to manage risk in my portfolio as I have been mostly a buy/hold investor for the past 20 years. Now that I have a sizable amount of capital to protect and grow, I felt like I could use some help.
At the end of the free trial I joined the service via the monthly plan to buy time to digest the provided content and information. I also wanted to follow along in the chat a little longer as I really enjoyed the cast of characters.
There is some serious talent and knowledge in this service! The synergy between the author and membership is simply amazing. This is truly a group of intelligent and experienced individuals that I am honored to follow and learn from.
I upgraded to the annual membership as I have already made numerous trades and have gained an immense amount of knowledge, including trading (and understanding!) options. I have a lot of learning left to do, and am very much looking forward to the journey.
Have a look at the monthly review and you'll see the diversity of assets covered. The content and guidance from the author, as well as the members, is worth way more than the price of admission.
Update: The Fortune Teller is a first class act! About 6 months into my membership and couldn't be happier. Hedging (correctly) is a game changer and has paid off (for me) more than the cost of the service.
I have been a member for just over 3 months and during this time my total yearly subscription has been repaid multiple times by utilizing the put and call strategies outlined in the service.
In addition, receiving articles prior to a general posting on Seeking Alpha has allowed equities to be purchased at lower prices (these guys spot opportunities missed by others).
One final point ... for those considering purchasing a membership......the service operates a real time chat group ...this is an invaluable source of tips, knowledge and idea sharing with TFT and TV ... they are always available and their guidance is invaluable.
This is a great service for investors from the beginners to the pros. TFT and TV are always happy to provide extremely insightful answers to your questions and also engage in meaningful discussions. It's not just a trades alert service. Anyone willing to learn will benefit from this.
I wish I had joined this long time ago, I would have learned many valuable lessons without paying for them.
I like ideas and the clear details behind those Ideals / Trades.
Truly a place to learn and find out about new ideas with clear cut information.
I was somewhat skeptical in the beginning since I was quite cynical about any kind of investment advice but I am a big fan of the service now. I like that I can pick and choose ideas - and there are plenty to choose from - that fit me. I love that both The Fortune Teller and Trapping Value always available to answer questions.
No problem recouping the annual fee if you put $5000 for tw one or two suggestions. Hippocrates

7. Climbing the learning ladder together. We're not leaving anyone (injured) alone in the battlefield. Unlike the Fed, no one here stays behind the curve.
8. Diversification. All markets, all asset-classes, all sectors, all types of securities - and more.
9. Risk management. The top priority of each and every trade. It doesn't mean that we don't take any risk - sure we do - but it's the risk/reward profile that matters much more than (just) the upside potential (return).
10. It's a great fun and a real privileged/pleasure to be among so many smart, talented and friendly people.
I followed The Fortune Teller and Trapping Value for quite awhile on the free side before determining their service was a good fit for my investment and income goals. I joined about 6 months ago and the service has way more than met my expectations. Keep in mind it is truly a “supermarket of ideas” so you choose from a wide variety of “items” to fit into your own overall strategy. What you will NOT get is a set portfolio strategy/model to implement.
What you WILL get is two smart and knowledgeable guys constantly on the lookout for undervalued, under-the-radar, mis-priced, out-of-favor etc securities and options in a wide variety of sectors, then getting some great analysis and due diligence to help your decision making…and some very helpful macro views as a foundation.
It has been immensely helpful for me to get ideas for market sectors I never even previously considered, plus the ongoing helpful guidance from both TFT and TV as they are accessible on a daily basis in their very active chat room – both are quick to respond to questions and offer in-depth explanations on trades and strategies if you just ask.
AND – you get a great community in the chat room, members asking good questions and offering their own strategies, ideas, and feedback.
Well worth it!
As a subscriber for over 8 months now I can honestly say that joining the Wheel of Fortune was the best financial decision that I ever made.I love the fact that loads of different types of trading ideas are suggested with a clear explanation and that both feedback and comments are always encouraged.I would encourage everyone to review any available articles on the free section with almost every comment getting a reply and then envisage how that kind of help is available in our chat room.
The trade recommendations are well thought out and although not run of the mill at least for the typical retail investor (me) always explained with risk considered . Most impressive is the leaders' response on chat to all the subscribers questions--very timely and thoughtful. The chat is constructive among the subscribers and thankfully mostly investment oriented. I am a relatively new subscriber (not one to usually review) but very happy with the service.
I have been following The Fortune Teller (TFT) for almost two years on the free side before I pulled the trigger and subscribed to his service a few weeks ago. I have never paid for this type of investment advice before, and this is the first for me.
His service so far has vastly exceeded my expectations. Fundamentally, his advice is about risk management. Not only does he recommend what to buy, he also recommends what not to buy. The ability to avoid these land mines has been my biggest shortfall in the past. For his recommendations he articulates the risk level and provides price targets and portfolio weightings. His recommendations cover the entire spectrum from the conservative side such as high quality utilities to small cap biotechs and options. It's a like a cafeteria menu and you pick your investments according to your comfort zone. Within two weeks, I was able to realize profits that more than pay for his annual service.
There are other intangibles. TFT works in the UK and Trapping Value, his partner, operates out of Canada. Due to the difference in the time zones and the long hours they put in, his service provides almost around the clock coverage.
Another thing you need to know about TFT is his courtesy, which is sadly lacking on Seeking Alpha. Even when he disagrees with other contributors on certain stocks, he always maintains a civil conversation. The same thing cannot be said about the other parties. He also patiently answers questions from mew subscribers and novice investors.
TFT has earned my strongest recommendation.
I've never joined a service with live chat, and this is the first one I've tried out. The leaders are VERY accessible and treat you with respect and patience, teaching you the ins and outs of basic trading ideas as well as more complicated ones. The service, which includes options selling for income as well as hedging strategies, provides articles that are very well thought through. My first options spread strategy from them paid for the entire year's subscription!
WoF is the first paid service I ever joined, and I don't foresee needing anything else. I have been so happy with the knowledge and guidance I received from the Fortune Teller (and TV after he recently joined). Risk management is what I need the most, and I am getting the best advice from FT and TV. Sometimes I don't get to check the market during the day, but my questions always get answered in the chat even before or after regular trading hours. I am really happy with the return I have achieved after joining the service, and more importantly, avoiding costly mistakes by balancing the risk and return. I learned all that through WoF, and am looking forward to learning more in the future. Last but not least, the service let me enjoy the chat with a group of knowledgeable, fun and nice folks....incredible experience!
Highly recommended service. The two most valuable aspects of the service are (1) risk management, and (2) a professional's perspective. The risk management is important because I try to follow the first and second rules of investing: don't lose money. Being mindful of the downside while we try to capture the upside is the responsible way to invest. And, above all, having a professional's perspective (actually two, because Trapping Value is on board too) is a check our of emotions. With the complexity and emotions involved in investing, it's best not to go alone, that's why we love The Wheel of Fortune.
As a young investor working in the tech field, my portfolio has always been very aggressive and growth-oriented. That has boded well over the past few years but I wanted to shift to a more conservative value and income oriented strategy. In this process, I started following FT a couple of years ago and have invested (and made a lot of $$) in many of his suggestions. I have been a member of this service for about a month now, and have continued to enjoy his insight and real-time stock trading alerts. And obviously have profited from a lot of his (and TV's) advice.
Knowledge and communication skills outstanding. In-depth analyses over WIDE range. Responsive to queries, even duplicative ones. The overall best service I've seen on Seeking Alpha, try it and see for yourself.
The service has paid for itself many times over by offering actionable ideas with solid results. In my 24+ years of retirement we’ve used many different types of services…mainline brokers, independent brokers & RIA’s; principal preservation has always been paramount for us. I use TWF primarily for risk-adjusted income, building a cash flow based on securities and ideas that I would not have found on my own. Market commentaries, actionable alerts and monthly spreadsheets of actual positions give an added value factor. The few trades that I have done, based on the alerts, have been profitable. The moderators are approachable and have responded quickly to questions or comments. The Wheel of Fortune offers so much more that you need to spend some time and check it out for yourself. I intend to stay with TWF for the long haul.
The cost of this service/guidance is a drop in the bucket of the profit I have made over the past year. I am provided with opportunities I never would uncover on my own. I manage my own portfolios and am recently taking a healthy six figure retirement income although I continue to work (artists never retire).
Because of the Wheel, the income from my investments continue to grow and I may never have to touch my principal. Lucky grandchildren, lucky me, TWF has made me look like I know what I'm doing. And I'd like to add that the family component is an added bonus, I learn almost as much from my fellow investors.
Aside from the money I have spent on education for my children and grandchildren, this is the best investment I have ever made.
I subscribe to the Wheel of Fortune and am quite happy with that subscription....... I enjoy it as a learning experience with a buffet of knowledge that I can pick and chose what interests me or helps me on my journey of investing.... I find it interesting to blend in different ways to invest than I have been used to. I would also comment that I have made more than the cost of my subscription for every month since I have joined.....I also like the idea that this service asks what you would like to see and discuss and then delivers that to everyone.... what more could anyone ask for??? my answer to that is NOTHING...I am long Wheel Of Fortune
Since joining I have learned options, how to use preferred stock and now have bonds in my portfolio. My entire portfolio with one exception is now comprised of what I have learned on the wheel . i wouldn't invest any money, anywhere now unless it was advised by the wheel of Fortune.... I Thank Fortune Teller and Trapping Value for all that has happened to my portfolio since joining... And my portfolio Thanks the wheel also.......I should also mention that besides learning and making money, it is truly fun being a member of TWOF
When I retired, I took back control of my investments from a brokerage firm and began to manage them myself. SA was an early discovery, and The Fortune Teller was an early favorite. I appreciate the 4 team presentation which focus on income, growth, RICs, and speculative investments. Have learned much about each type, and about the economy. Now, if I can just leap into the options pond with TFT and TV as a my lifeguards...
Felt sorry that I didn't join the service earlier. Learned a lot from here, still much much more to learn from this service here. Trading from this service is fun and successful. I would recommend this service to any one and already done so to my friends around.
I know more about cooking than I do about investing. Early on I learned to trust my nose when it comes to cooking. I found it much the same when it came to investing. A few years ago I began following a number of SA authors and as a newbie I purchased some tracking gadgets followed by a couple of newsletters and waited for the income to flow in. Of course the only thing that flowed in was more requests to purchase more gadgets and more recipes.
Then I found Rose and discovered she knows how to seek out good sources of investment information. So, I followed RoseNose and purchased the complete "A Team" when she did. Who knew what results awaited? It didn't take long before the money came in.
Next thing I knew Rose joined The Wheel of Fortune and I had a decision to make.
I didn't want to invest $1000 a year in my education at the tender age of 70+, so what should I do? I took a flyer and signed up at $100 a month. Figured I would learn the secrets in a few months, cancel and save a bundle. Funny thing happened.
I bought small positions in several picks and soon the same success I had with the A Team was repeating itself on The Wheel and I stuck around for another month and so on. It's been well over a year now and about time I shared a review to thank Rose Nose for leading me to The Wheel of Fortune and Ariel, Trapping Value the folks on the chatroom or showing me the way once I hopped on.
In the spirit of full disclosure I manage my small IRA which grows a little each year, covers my RMD and the monthly cost of membership plus a week on PEI , Canada. I don't have enough cash to do options, but with puts and naked calls, it does sound like fun.
Whether you are making a frittata or a fortune, the process is the same, find a proven recipe and follow your nose.
June 2018 update, I have been on the service for 9 months now and it's only gotten better; I have learned options, defensively prepared my portfolio, and made lots of money, whats not to love? My original review "Precise, concise, actionable recommendations. I respect his recommendations whether I act on all of them or not; and his willingness to teach and nurture are truly remarkable." is still extremely valid but with the addition of Trapping Value this service should carry a 10 star rating! Join in the fun, make money, and learn valuable lessons on how to protect your retirement and position yourself for success!
Excellent service. Diversified and balanced guided first and foremost by risk vs reward considerations and an advisory staff with a profound understanding of market principles.
The Fortune Teller makes excellent recommendations with risk in mind and is very accessible through chat. He has an excellent grasp of the financial markets.
The ideas presented by TFT are frequent and detailed and profitable easily paying for his service, even for a small trader like myself. The service where his knowledge of the Macro economics is paired with a variety of choices and has a great chatroom where members and TFT join together to openly share ideas.
I joined the Wheel of Fortune about a month ago now. I wanted to get in from the beginning, but waited to see what others thought first. After reading all of the wonderful reviews and online comments, I jumped in, and I sure am glad I did! In a month's time, I have made SIX TIMES the annual price for the subscription! I've invested cautiously, yet everything makes so much sense. There's something for everyone, from the most conservative investor to the most aggressive one, and it's all very well laid out.
The chat room is great too. Everyone helps each other and all ideas and suggestions are readily considered and responded to. If you're looking for a great way to learn about investing, and making money while you do it, you've come to the right place. The Fortune Teller is wonderfully patient and responsive. And making the cost of admission sixfold in the first month speaks for itself!
I read & follow many writers on SA. FT is different – he has amazingly broad & deep understanding of the markets. When he announced a premium service, of course, I joined. Am with the service now since March. The service has paid for itself many times over ;))) He brings a buffet of ideas to the table, & I have added quite a few that I would never have had the time or expertise to find. I have learned better portfolio mgmt. & improved my risk/reward profile. The Chat has been very interesting, fun, & another great learning tool with many knowledgeable investors. FT is for sure a master teacher! He is accessible to us thru comments, chat, or email. Most important- he delivers results. The Wheel is almost a one stop shopping -- as he says, like Costco. Highly recommend the service!
In my search for better yields, I stumbled across The Fortune Teller on SA and was immediately impressed with his articles. When he started The Wheel of Fortune I had to follow him. The Wheel of Fortune opened up a whole new world of investing for me. The A-Team, M-Reits, Preferred stocks, growth stocks, value stocks, high yield, and a little bio-tech thrown in for fun. He displays a unique blend of intelligence, patience, risk awareness, and character that provides confidence in his advice. I enjoy interacting with The Fortune Teller and his followers on a daily basis, and I really enjoy making money.
I am extremely pleased with the service as I have made more than 68,000 on 17 trades. This does not include dividends. TFT covers all sectors where he finds value, starting with a macro view and then working to a micro view. He is extremely risk adverse and also uses options. After listening and learning, I placed my first options trade yesterday. I could not be happier with the service and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to improve their investment returns. cjstockpicker
This is the best service I have subscribed to on seeking alpha marketplace, and I have subscribed to many. The wheel of fortune and his A-team are not only great macro-economic analysts, but they know which sectors in the market offer the greatest value and select the equities which have the most potential to appreciate. Most of these equities have high dividends. So if you're an income investor, you've come to the right place. Further, he and his team have extensive experience in the markets, so I have learned a lot about value investing, simple options strategies to boost income, and portfolio diversification. And, they present a plethora of investment ideas so that one can choose which equities fit one's style. In the 2 months that I have been here, I have made good money already, which is the bottom line for me. Also, Fortune answers questions and offers excellent insight on his chat board, which is filled with knowledgeable investors---almost worth the price of admission itself. I give Fortune 5 stars and highly recommend his service!
I've tried a number of different services. The Wheel of Fortune has many great actionable ideas. They are spelled out very well & The Fortune Hunter is available almost constantly to discuss any questions. Also the chat portion is great with a lot of smart investors contributing. Well worth the cost & the ideas I've taken advantage of have paid for the service many times over.
I started with the Fortune Teller about a month ago. I have an income portfolio based on other SA services but wanted ideas that were more broadly focused and not limited to income generation. I reviewed the current recommendations from FT and picked a few based on my technical analysis. In the short time I've been here I've been able to pay the annual fee for the next several years. I'm very happy with his service and willingness to share on the chat. I highly recommend it.
The Fortune Teller gives both a macro and micro look at the markets. FT provides suggestions using both stocks, bonds and options with easy to understand instructions. Spells out the risks involved in trade suggestions whether low or very speculative and what percentage of your money should be in said trade. Answers questions quickly. The chat is lively. I have made far more money off his ideas than the cost of my yearly subscription. I highly recommend giving him a try!
I have always managed my portfolio myself and prior to the Wheel never subscribed to a paid monthly service before. When I joined the Wheel of Fortune in March, I really didn’t know what to expect. In this short amount of time, I have been exposed to corporate bonds, preferred stocks and options as a way to reduce market risk. TFT does a fantastic job of presenting a wide range of investment options to satisfy all members. With TFT, all you have to do is ask and you will receive. No question is left unanswered and no stock consideration or investing topic is left uncovered. There is a very diverse group of members in the room and the discussion is often very lively, thought provoking, and fun. I have learned more in the past 7 months than I ever dreamed and couldn’t be happier with the service. Best of all, the service has paid for itself many times over.
The Wheel of Fortune has been very profitable for me and well worth the subscription price. I learn not only from the Fortune Teller, but also from the active chat. FT puts an enormous amount of time and effort into his articles, always focusing on risk/reward. He is quick to answer questions in the chat which is appreciated by everyone. I am extremely happy with this service and highly recommend it.
As an old-timer who is trying to learn stock market investing, I am pleased that I chose Fortune Teller as my investing Guru. FT is more than knowledgeable, patient, prompt to respond, gives sage advice and is forthright with his responses, whether Chat Room or privately. FT and his clients make the investing/learning process enjoyable, as I pick up considerable knowledge from the Chat Room. Kudos to FT.
I have been following and have subscribed to TFT(The Fortune Teller) for 3 months. His comments and recommendations have given me real stability in this market. His analysis is very thoughtful and provides a lot of insight. His investment suggestions have been profitable for the most part but equalling important is that, personally I feel his guidance provides a SWAN (sleep well at night) for me. In fact, I started as a monthly subscriber and have converted to an annual one.
In my last 14 years of stock investing I have used several newsletters in addition to keeping a contrarian approach towards stock investment. Several times I thought about quitting the stock market altogether. So far, none of the newsletters used an approach that combines income and growth by appropriately balancing risk and reward. The Wheel of FORTUNE does that by providing ample investment options to preserve your capital and still generate income and grow your portfolio through a combination of preferred stocks, dividend (common) stocks, mREITs, eREITs, growth stocks, options, and even some potential multi baggers. I have learned a lot from Fortune Teller in my few months of being with the service. I like Fortune Teller's approach where I get to know the reasoning behind the recommendations that come with appropriate buy/sell price range, and holding period.
Despite my skepticism of paid services, I decided to take the plunge with FT. in 4 months my annual subscription is paid for many times over.
I've been a subscriber to the FT since it began in March of '17 and have been very pleased. FT concentrates mostly on income producing investments which is what I was looking for. In this area he has been very solid with a variety of ideas including bonds, preferreds, RICS, and dividend stocks. After following FT since the A-TEAM came out I knew he was a true professional and very good at what he does, What I didn't expect was the excellent guidance in portfolio management, and some terrific spec picks. As always, he is hands on and if you have questions he answers promptly. He has provided a discipline and market knowledge that I didn't have before.
I have been following FT for about one year now. If you are looking for one word to describe FT, here is mine: Integrity. Of course, I have not personally met FT, but from his articles, I see a consistent flow of evaluations that are honest and well studied. And, perhaps most importantly, when wrong, he will promptly admit his mistake or judgement. So, when FT announced Wheel of Fortune, I was eager to become a member. As expected, I have not been disappointed. FT promised he would not post an article for the sake of posting an article. If something is important to say, he says it. Otherwise, he may be quiet for a few days. His recommendations are generally complimentary to my investment philosophy: buy and hold for long term with opportunity for growth coupled with an income stream. If you want a service that has honesty and integrity as its motto (I just made that up but it could be his!), then Wheel of Fortune is waiting on you.....One more comment....His presence on chat is excellent and he will go immediately to personal message if you prefer. FT takes the time to get it right. Come join us....I promise you will be glad you did.
In this challenging market, I have learned some valuable investment ideas from the Wheel and made some profitable investments that I would not have found on my own. The live chat is also very informative and entertaining. Good ideas from the other subscribers and The Fortune Teller is there to answer questions and comment. Well worth the subscription price.
I have already made much more than the annual cost based on his recommendations and I am learning a lot about investing. The Fortune Teller provides specific investment recommendations. He addresses both the potential returns and potential risks in a simple to understand way. He considers the macro environment since current market conditions may not be good for some investment choices. His emphasis on risk management is very important for both long term returns and for providing a steady income stream.
I have been investing for nearly 50 years and have never used an advisor. I first learned of The Fortune Teller (TFT) on a public site (Seeking Alpha). I was impressed with his analysis, lack of hype, risk aversion and solid investment advise. I made money based on several of his articles. When it was announced that TFT was going to start a premium site I decided to try it out for a few months and see if it would provide me with any ideas I might not be able to find on my own; it did. He rates his ideas from conservative to speculative so you can choose based on your own investment needs. Following his well reasoned contrarian opinions has helped me avoid large losses in the REIT segment. I have become a long term subscriber.
Anyone who followed The Fortune Teller's advice with the ATeam ought to be pleased with the returns. I certainly am. I appreciate his no-nonsense manner and actionable recommendations. When the premium service became available, I had no hesitation in signing up. It is absolutely worth it. If you see value in his articles in the free section, why not try the Wheel? What have you got to lose? A hundred bucks? Come on! The Wheel of Fortune is all about risk v. reward. I have 2,500 profit on one recommendation, it works for me.
They are some of the best macro authors I have seen anywhere. Well-researched, rational, long-term macro views that tend to look 6 months to a year out. They also are excellent at reminding subscribers of their view when the market suddenly doesn't agree. The consistent long term focus has helped me keep my head through turmoil.
I do think they can be a little slow to act in individual stock decisions. Shipping and biotechnology are examples of waiting to long, and some rallies were missed. Overall though everyone has their strengths and this service is worth its price for what they do very well.
The Wheel of Fortune has helped my investing returns in the short time that I have been a member. I appreciate their risk management since they keep you appraised of when you might want to exit a holding. If only I knew how to use options then I could really benefit.
TFT gave me a broader view on possibilties for investing. Based on 2 of his recommendations, I already made a very good return.
