Sina (SINA +4%) has launched a CNY10/month ($1.57/month) paid membership service for users of its extremely popular Weibo microblogging platform. The service provides value-added features such as personalized pages and the ability to upload audio posts, and comes amidst close investor scrutiny of how Sina plans to monetize Weibo. Recent ad sales efforts appear to be going well.
