Blue Shield of California, which covers 3.3M members, will soon stop paying for use of Roche's (OTCQX:RHHBY -2.4%) drug Avastin as a treatment for breast cancer. The insurer is the largest yet to stop covering the drug for that purpose, and the first to pull coverage following a June FDA advisory committee's recommendation to revoke Avastin's approval for breast cancer treatment.
