MacRumors notices a report from a Taiwanese site claiming Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has received samples of 7.85-inch screens featuring the same resolution as current iPad models. Steve Jobs wasn't a fan of 7-inch tablets, but perhaps the Kindle Fire's (NASDAQ:AMZN) early buzz is making Apple consider its options for a cheaper iPad.
