Rajeev Sawhney, who has been heading the European operations of HCL Technologies has resigned from the company, and is likely to leave the company by the end of this month. "Rajeev was head of Public Services in Europe for quite some time now. The Europe business is at a mature state and more aligned to vertical and horizontal offerings in the region. For Europe as a geography, Rajeev was playing an administrative role," a company spokesperson said. Sawhney, who has been with HCL Technologies for the last 28 years, is among the top management that has worked closely with Shiv Nadar, the company's promoter and founder. In the company's concept of hiring people from Europe for its European operations, Sawhney played a major role. Moreover, Sawhney was also responsible for supervision of the strategic direction of HCL Technologies to deliver transformational outsourcing and IT enabled services to organisations across Europe. For the leading IT services firm, the European operations contributed around 27.3 per cent in its revenues for the year 2011. Prior to becoming Managing Director of HCL Europe, Sawhney worked as a Business Head for HCL-Hewlett Packard Limited, a joint venture between HCL Technologies and Hewlett Packard.
