Wipro's IT arm, Wipro Infotech has secured a 10-year contract from Mumbai International Airport Ltd. (MIAL) for providing the new integrated terminal 'T2' with IT services, thereby enhancing experience and satisfaction-level of customers.
Under the deal, Wipro Infotech will be accountable for offering managed services across the entire IT landscape at MIAL. In addition, the company will also deliver high availability as well as operational efficiency across all the critical airport processes, the company said in a statement.
A joint venture between GVK-led consortium and Airports Authority of India, MIAL operates Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) in Mumbai. As per the terms of contract, MIAL will deploy Wipro's expertise in airport operations and technology innovations to deliver newer services, seamless processes and enhanced experience to passengers and airlines.
At present, MIAL is implementing a master plan to build an integrated terminal T2, which is designed to cater to 40 million passengers per year. Upon completion, T2 will be a four-level integrated terminal with an area of about 4.39 lakh sq mts.
