Over the last few weeks I've followed a company called BioNeutral Group (BONU), a specialty technology-based life-science company that has developed a technology platform that neutralizes harmful environmental contaminants, toxins and dangerous micro-organisms including bacteria, viruses, mold, fungi and spores. Currently this company boasts 2 unique, proprietary and highly competitive anti-microbial technologies, which are embodied in its Ygiene and Ogiene products. In short, Ygiene is a highly effective, fast acting surface cleaner geared toward Hospital, Institutional Health Care, Commercial, Industrial and Institutional use as a cleaner, disinfectant and sterilizer. The Ogiene multipurpose cleaner has applications for household, institutional & industrial use for cleaning and stain removal of stains, dirt and grime.
Last week the company released a shareholder update that gave a glimpse into what BioNeutral has in store for 2014. The update noted some major opportunities for the company to expand on distribution through its partnership with ProSell and through its partnership with BioTech Medical.
This morning BONU came out with news; the company announced that it has entered into an Exclusive Distribution Agreement with Quip Laboratories (Quip).
Quip has been a leader in sales distribution of cleaning and disinfection solutions to the life science marketplace since 1981 and resides in a 30,000 square foot building that houses Administrative, Research and Development, Quality Control, Production and Shipping, Customer Solutions, and Sales/Marketing. Featuring in-house research and development, production, quality control and sales and marketing, Quip provides a "total-systems" approach to providing efficient and eco-gentle environment hygiene.
How does BONU Benefit?
According to the company, this relationship represents a major step forward to expand its distribution of the YGIENE™ and OGIENE™ products to important life science markets. This exclusive partnership leverages Quip's leadership in the biosafety industry as well as BioNeutral's excellence in product innovation and performance… BONU now has a huge opportunity to have its products received by Quip's large customer-base.
"Our focus for the first half of 2014 will be to continue to expand our selling effort to include additional sales partners as well as additional market segments. In that regard, we are engaged in active discussions with other potential independent selling organizations as well, both here at home and abroad."
-Mark Lowenthal, CEO, BioNeutral Group-
I'd say this latest announcement comes right inline with what Mr Lowenthal was quoted in saying in the previous shareholder update. With 2014 heating up, I think BONU may begin to heat things up in the biomedical space especially in Q1 and I believe that we'll soon find out.
