We’re Going to Disneyland

Disneyland is a place of magic and wonder, and any trip to California must include at least one day in the “happiest place on earth.” However, there is a way to do Disneyland and there are ways to not do Disneyland. In order to get the most out of your trip to Disneyland, here are few helpful hints.

If you have control over when you will be visiting Southern California, you will want to avoid Disneyland’s busiest days which are the 4th of July, Thanksgiving weekend, and Christmas through New Year’s Day. The best times to visit in terms of weather and crowds are May or early September. Also, if possible, try to go to Disneyland mid-week rather than on the weekends.

Although sometimes you can find specials, most people find that it is cheaper to stay at one of the nearby hotels and travel to the park by car than to stay at one of the park hotels. There are several cheap quality hotels in Anaheim and Garden Grove that are very near to Disneyland. Remember that you are trying to experience the magic of Disneyland, not all of the amenities that a hotel has to offer. Since you will be spending most of your time at the park, you do not necessarily need a hotel that can cater to your every need. A clean room, comfortable beds, and possibly a continental breakfast will have you well-rested and fed for your day at the park.

Speaking of food: If you want to keep your trip to Disneyland on the cheap, you will not want to eat inside of the park. The fact is, there are no cheap eating establishments inside of Disneyland. There are, however, several options for cheap food within close distance to the park. If you want to walk, fast food and two sit-down restaurants are right across from the park on Harbor. If you want to get in your car and travel a little further, there are over 10 dining options within five miles of Disneyland. Even with the cost of returning to the parking lot, you will still come out ahead.

And, since we brought up the car and parking, one thing you will want to make sure of is that your car insurance is up to date. Disneyland has huge parking lots and though they do monitor them, all of the bad things that can happen in a big lot can happen at Disneyland. If your car is damaged or broken into, you will want the peace of mind of knowing that your insurance coverage will compensate you for any losses. Making sure your car insurance is current for your trip to Disneyland in California is another way to ensure that your trip stays as cheap as possible.
