Shell Discovers Gas In Block SK318 Off Malaysia

Shell announced that it has encountered more than 450m of gas in the Rosmari-1 well located in Block SK318 offshore Malaysia. The well was drilled to a depth of 2,123m.

Andy Brown, Director Shell Upstream International said, "Rosmari-1 is a testament to our ability to successfully drill and build understanding of new geology within our existing exploration heartlands, adding value to our existing assets in Malaysia. We are expanding and rejuvenating heartlands across our exploration portfolio, including in Brunei, Australia and the Gulf of Mexico."

Block SK318 ownership: Shell (85%, operator) and Petronas (15%).

In Mar-2014, Petronas and Shell announced an oil discovery at the Limbayong-2 well, located off Malaysia, with 136m of oil-bearing sands.

In Oct-2013, Shell successfully completed the Evans Shoal North-1 appraisal well, Timor Sea.
