Many New Names In The Magic Formula Screens This Week

Growth At A Reasonable Price, Long Only, Value, proprietary formula investing
Seeking Alpha Analyst Since 2008
This is more like it!
After many months of very low turnover, Q2 earnings season has produced some substantial shakeup and new names in the Magic Formula® screens this week.
There are a few themes here. First, the wipeout in media stocks has brought Discovery (DISCA/DISCK), Scripps (SNI), and Meredith (MDP) back into MFI, joining long time member Viacom (VIAB). More on those later this week.
After a nice run, Outerwall (OUTR) has gapped down over 17%, from the mid-80's down to the mid-60's, over the past couple of weeks. Could it be back in buyable territory?
One truly new name is Polycom (PLCM), a maker of remote collaboration tools for business. While growth has slowed, this is still a nice cash producing firm and possibly worth a look. The stock is down 18% year to date.
