Get ready to open your wallets, Americans. The State of California needs your support.
This from Fox:
A slate of California state ballot measures backed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in an effort to close a massive budget deficit appeared set for defeat, according to projected results reported Tuesday. The projections showed five of the six measures -- which included a spending cap, extending some tax increases and diverting funds from a state lottery and some health-care programs -- would not pass, despite the governor's high-profile support. The only measure that seemed likely to pass late Tuesday was Proposition 1F, which bars raises for lawmakers and other state elected officials during deficit years, the Associated Press reported.
