Tesla’s (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk is seemingly perpetually bored and starving for attention. So, in order to inject into himself a psychological mix of meaningless attention, he most recently rattled the cage like a gorilla, in order to stir the pot:
First, he lowers the price of the Model 3 by $1,000 on some version, from $39,900 to $38,900.
Then, the morning after, still bored and hungry for attention, he announces that he will increase the price of the nonexistent self-driving functionality by $1,000 -- starting on the 42nd anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death (August 16).
Remember $420 funding secured? Well, this August 16 will be the 42nd anniversary of Elvis Presley’s death.
And Elvis was 42 years old at that point.
For Musk, it’s 42 or 420 all around.
I swear, Musk is doing this only because he is bored and needs a laugh.
