CommerceTel Corp. (MFON) Seals Another Acquisition Deal

Seeking Alpha Analyst Since 2008
CommerceTel, a San Diego, California-based company focused on providing its award-winning, proprietary mobile marketing technologies and solutions, announced its second acquisition in less than thirty days at the chiming of the market’s opening bell today. The cloud-based mobile marketing provider reported that it has recently snatched-up Mobivity (mobivity.com). The first acquisition, TxtStation, closed on April 1, 2011.
Mobivity is no rookie as it has been behind more than 20 million mobile engagements for clients via its SMS solution. CommerceTel plans to enhance the feature set of the solution by adding its technology so that Mobivity clients can expand their mobile marketing strategy. CommerceTel’s lower cost network operating infrastructure is also anticipated to streamline Mobivity’s operating systems and make for a more competitive and profitable service with both the client and the Company reaping the benefits in the rapidly expanding mobile marketing arena.
According to Dennis Becker, CEO of CommerceTel, the Company expects the acquisitions to increase revenues by over 150 percent as well as introduce the opportunity to expand sales of CommerceTel’s technologies to the existing client bases from the acquired firms. Mr. Becker stated, “We continue to execute on our strategy of acquiring and integrating complementary mobile marketing businesses. We plan to provide enterprises, brands and agencies with a high quality one stop shop of technologies.”
The CEO’s statement appears to give hints that CommerceTel is not done hunting for more companies to acquire, so investors will more than likely have their ears to the ground listening for more news coming down the tracks.
