PhotoMedex, Inc. (PHMD) Introduces DNA Damage Control Product

PhotoMedex, Inc., an industry leader of clinical skincare and laser products, introduced their innovative DNA Damage Control product. This product is much different than typical treatments and sunscreens in that it uses DNA to repair damaged skin.
This product is being marketed under the company’s NEOVA brand. DNA Damage Control defends against photodamage by boosting the body’s natural DNA repair process. The patent-pending formulas use liposomes to deliver DNA repair enzymes to the cellular level of the skin, hyper-targeting the site of the DNA injury. Clinical studies have shown that DNA repair enzymes reduced DNA damage by 45% and increased UV protection by 300% in just one hour.
“Photodamage occurs every day, even on cloudy days, and damage to our skin is cumulative. Even if you don’t see a sunburn, sun exposure can lead to wrinkles, pigmentation changes and more serious consequences including skin cancer,” said Melanie Grossman, MD, New York-based dermatologist. “The NEOVA sunscreens offer broadband photoprotection and deliver both antioxidants and DNA repair enzymes which combine for advanced sun protection.”
