Premier Power Renewable Energy, a global provider of large and medium-scale solar power systems, today announced it has commenced the construction of the 16.2MWp Zdravetz utility scale solar power plant in Bulgaria. The project is slated for completion during the second quarter of 2012.
Premier Power has established a solid presence in North America and Europe through the development and construction of more than 1,000 solar projects. The Zdravetz utility plant further extends Premier Power's market reach in Europe, and tails last week's announcement of the company's agreement in Scandinavia, which calls for a total of 5 MWp in equipment for solar projects in the region.
"These projects underscore Premier Power's unparalleled ability to rapidly respond to dynamic economies and shifting renewable energy policies in emerging and established markets around the world. Our previous successes in Eastern Europe - a region few others have been able to effectively penetrate - are now enabling us to capture significant market share in Bulgaria," Bjorn Persson, executive vice president of European operations at Premier Power, stated in the press release. "We look forward to building our presence in Bulgaria and other Eastern European countries as they aggressively target their renewable energy goals."
Today's announcement is a follow-up of Premier Power's September 2011 joint-venture agreement with European firm Plaan Czech for the construction of the 16.2 MWp Zdravetz solar power plants in Bulgaria.
