Deltron (DTRO.OB) Announces Proprietary Product Sale to Matthews Studio Equipment Inc.

Deltron Inc. today announced that Matthews Studio Equipment Inc., a leading provider of lighting and camera hardware, has purchased high-end polyurethane wheels from its wholly owned manufacturing subsidiary Elasco.

Matthews Studio Equipment designs specialized equipment for the entertainment industry, catering to customers in more than 60 countries around the world. The studio equipment company needed a solution to vibration issues it was having with the dollies that carry film cameras across segmented tracks, which ultimately could affect motion picture quality.

In response, Elasco created a proprietary polyurethane formulation and wheel design to prevent compression set, provide shock absorption, with the ability to withstand heat, weight, weather and other extreme film set conditions. These qualities enabled the dolly to roll smoothly.

Elasco has specialized in polyurethane and plastics design, molding and manufacturing since 1979. From January to June of 2010, the company reported a 60 percent increase in revenue over the same period last year. Deltron attributes the sales increase to orders from recreational products providers.

“Being selected as the vendor of choice by a company known in the entertainment industry for its high quality equipment is extremely gratifying. Matthews presented us with a very rigorous set of specifications and we were able to design and produce new wheels that meet their needs. At Deltron we are proud of our engineering, formulation and manufacturing capabilities and excited to have access to a new market for our products,” Henry Larrucea, Deltron CEO stated in the press release.

Deltron said that the recent sale to Matthews Studio Equipment supports its belief that it is on track to continue to increase revenue this year.
