In addition, the company is also involved in other aspects of homeland security including being a provider of counter-terrorism consulting and training services.

The company reported today that it has received a purchase order for its 5-agent biological detection equipment from Boeing Service Company, a fully-owned subsidiary of Boeing Defense. The detection equipment is designed to check for anthrax, ricin, botulinum, Y pestis (plague) and other bio-hazards in as little as three minutes.

Universal Detection Technology’s bio-detection kit was recognized last year as an ‘Approved Product for Homeland Security’ by the US Department of Homeland Security. Its capabilities have been evaluated by both the US and British militaries. The company’s bio-detection equipment has also been used extensively by first responders across the United States.

The news of the purchase order from a subsidiary of Boeing has been positively received by the stock market. Universal Detection’s stock is currently trading at $0.0017 a share, up $0.001 or nearly 143% for the day.
