Very few will argue with the fact that our $4 trillion healthcare system has many fundamental challenges in need of solutions. One all too commonly encountered problem is the inability to easily and timely share medical records with physicians so they can have the required patient information in order to provide the most effective diagnostics and treatment. Being an experienced physician, Dr. Dent understands the difficulties facing physicians and patients, and is offering solutions by creating powerful Artificial Intelligence based applications that are fast, simple, very effective, and easy to use.
One example of the great appeal of the new HealthLynked apps is when HealthLynked took center stage at the Florida Medical Association conferencein Orlando, Florida, August 3-4, 2018. The conference resulted in over 100 physicians establishing new HealthLynked profiles on the HealthLynked Network. With a changing healthcare landscape, physicians recognized the need to have a robust online presence to market their expertise, book appointments online, and gain access to more complete medical records for their patients.
With each physician projected to have, on average, approximately 3,000 active patients, HealthLynked expects to grow its market presence in the State of Florida with up to 300,000 additional new members. This brings the new estimated HealthLynked patient population to 500,000.
Dr. Michael Dent, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer, attended the conference in Orlando and stated, “I was pleased to see how accepting physicians were to connect to their patients and their passion for our technology to significantly improve the management of their patients’ healthcare. Physicians were also excited about our most recent software application that allows them to connect with their colleagues across the country to discuss difficult medical cases, share the latest medical information and make patient medical referrals.”
Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare
For good reason, Artificial Intelligence is becoming an area of keen investor interest to investors. On September 4, 2018, HealthLynked announced that it has created a unique database of over 15,000 medical publications and research articles that it plans to use for its health analytics Artificial Intelligence “AI” service.
Information is the driver of all medical decisions and having a robust library of medical information and continually updating this library ensures physicians and members can find the most current and relevant information regarding healthcare decisions.
The archive uses Elasticsearch, which can be used to search a wide range of documents. It provides a scalable search, has near real-time search capabilities, and supports multi-tenancy. Elasticsearch operates in a distributed environment, which means that indices can be divided into shards (containers) and each shard can have zero or more replicas. Each node (single server) hosts one or more shards, and acts as a coordinator to delegate operations to the correct shard(S). Related data is often stored in the same index, which consists of one or more primary shards, and zero or more replica shards.
In addition to our ongoing AI development, the ever-expanding data archive the company has created already allows for advanced search functions for users to search this archive by title, key words, partial work matches, author and date of publication.
Dr. Dent stated, “Medical research and treatments continually evolve and having the latest medical information is important to ensure that patients receive the best care possible. Patients use the internet to routinely search for health-related issues. Online searches typically return of wide range of results from sources that have poor reliability, outdated results and often misinformation. Having a reliable resource for medical information is important and as we continue to build our database we will be able to provide more relevant search results that are specific and tailored to each of our member’s medical history.”
"Our Physician members can also curate this data to their areas of specific interest, keeping them informed on the latest medical treatments and research."
Streamlining Patient and Physician Communications for Better Outcomes
In August this year, HealthLynkedannounced the release of its latest software upgrade to the HealthLynked network that allows physicians to connect with other physicians across the country. This new service facilitates and encourages a number of important interactions among healthcare providers that can significantly improve patient care, such as:
- Connecting medical professionals nationwide. By recommending other healthcare providers to physicians based on proprietary algorithms, the upgraded software enables physicians to collaborate. Medical professionals are connected based on each physician’s profile, including their medical specialty, office location, zip code, and education including their university, medical school and residency training.
- Connecting other physicians in a provider’s local market. The upgraded software will facilitate patient medical referrals, help physicians engage in discussion regarding the latest developments in treatment options and build additional brand awareness in a physician’s local market.
- Connecting healthcare experts across the country to consult on complex medical cases, assuring that patients receive the best medical care. Physicians that are thought leaders in their respective fields can now be accessible by other physicians from across the country.
Patients, on average, have 3 to 4 different healthcare providers depending on the age and number of medical issues of the individual. The ability for healthcare providers to communicate with their local colleagues for medical referrals and to consult with experts across the country will improve healthcare by providing a tool for more open communication among healthcare providers.
The application allows healthcare providers to “lynk” to one another via HealthLynked’s online directory of over 880,000 healthcare providers in the United States. Once connected, physicians can communicate via online messages or in real time through the Company’s online chat feature, and can share files, medical articles and can engage in group discussions with multiple physicians.
Dr. Michael Dent, CEO of HealthLynked, stated, “We have focused on connecting patients to their healthcare providers, and we are proud to release this incredibly useful service to our platform. As physicians become more specialized, it is critical that they connect with multiple specialists across the healthcare community when a medical issue arises outside the expertise of the treating physician.”
"Patients need open communication among their various treating healthcare providers and having a common place for this to occur within the HealthLynked network is a natural progression of our software solution and our mission. As our network of providers and members continues to grow, our new software applications provide unique solutions to better serve the healthcare needs of our members."
HealthLynked Platform Clears Obstacles and Opens Medical Records
HealthLynked (OTCQB:HLYK) announced that their members can now share their personal Personal Health Records (Electronic Medical Records) with healthcare providers of their choice. Access can be limited to “view only” or a user can grant full edit capabilities to their healthcare providers and healthcare surrogates in order to add, delete, and/or edit their medical information. This allows HealthLynked Network users to assure that their medical information is up to date and accurate. Medical record access is also controlled at the level of each record and time parameters can be established as an additional level of security.
HealthLynked CEO Dr. Michael Dent stated, “The access control software allows our users the unique ability to take full control of their medical information. A user can control who can access, edit and add information to their HealthLynked profile and Personal Health Record. The access control software operates to keep the patient in charge of their medical information while at the same time allowing healthcare providers and healthcare surrogates to maintain the most up-to-date information on behalf of the patient.” Dr. Dent went on to say “Having practiced for over 20 years, I am aware of the need for patients and physicians to share sensitive medical information and maintain privacy. The HealthLynked personal health record system allows patients and their healthcare providers to work together to assure the efficient exchange of medical information and improving healthcare for all our members.”
Patients’ medical records can be uploaded to their personal, secure cloud storage via image capture, eFax, or Application Programming Interface (“API”) with participating Electronic Health Records (“EHRs”). Once a record is uploaded, users have complete control of who can access their medical information and the length of time each healthcare provider has access to which records.
Users may also link to other family members, like elderly parents, and access medical information via a two-way authentication process called “Lynking”. This allows healthcare surrogates acting as caregivers to closely monitor and participate in their healthcare decisions.
In addition to the storing of Personal Health Record (“PHR”) features of the HealthLynked network, the mobile app allows for easy scheduling of appointments for over 800,000 healthcare providers throughout the US. Location services allow users to select providers and filter results by geo location, gender, zip code, in-network or out-of-network services and medical specialty.
For a Doctor, the app serves as a complete medical record for patients, working in conjunction with the provider’s existing EHR. Physicians gain real-time access to more complete medical information of their patients allowing them to make better medical decisions and avoid medical errors.
"What makes the app unique is its simple user interface and dashboard that facilitates the patient to control access to all their medical information. The app's interactive interface has all the essential search, sorting filters, and user managed settings, making it possible for users to better manage their healthcare, connect to their providers, and assure their information is up-to-date. More complete medical information and timely access directly translate into better healthcare."
Growth Capital is Available to HealthLynked
July 19, 2018, HealthLynkedannouncedthat it has closed a $2,000,000 private placement of common stock and warrants with an institutional investor. HealthLynked Corp. issued 3,900,000 shares of common stock, pre-funded warrants to purchase 4,100,000 shares of common stock, and warrants to purchase 8,000,000 shares of common stock, plus additional warrants to purchase shares of common stock that may become exercisable following the registration of the securities issued in the private placement. The capital was raised for the purpose of technology enhancement, sales and marketing initiatives and for its planned acquisition strategy.
George O’Leary, HealthLynked’s Chief Financial Officer, stated: “This private placement allows us to implement our acquisition strategy, which is to acquire health service businesses and offer physician owners cash, HLYK stock, and deferred compensation. Currently we expect that acquisition targets have a practice size of at least $1 million in revenue and demonstrate at least three current consecutive years of strong profitability. We intend to focus our acquisition efforts in the state of Florida.”
HealthLynked charges the physicians a monthly fee for their service that is cost-effective and very attractive to physicians, free for the patients, and is catching on like wildfire as evidenced by HealthLynked high growth rates. In the previous two quarters, HealthLynked reported record sales increases of 46% and 36%. There are over 800,000 physicians in the United States and Dr. Dent believes they all can greatly benefit from being a member of HealthLynked, and that the future for HealthLynked is very bright as sales are confirming with very high growth now.
Dr. Dent founded NeoGenomics (NEO) and was responsible for dramatic growth as NEO shares traded from 20 cents to $15.00 with a market cap of over $1 billion. Dr. Dent believes HealthLynked has the potential to become substantially larger than Neo Genomics and to impact the giant healthcare industry very favorably.
