Tor Minerals - An as yet to be discovered gem?

|Includes: TOR Minerals International Inc (TORM)

TORM is listed in the category of "Basic Materials" and may just be one of those gems that falls under most "radar screens."
All of my comments are from data "mined" (no pun intended) from Yahoo Finance.
TORM is a mining company extracting basic (and some not so basic) minerals and serving the coatings (paints), plastics, paper and other industries.
On a macro basis one may conclude that this is a great time for basic materials stocks and I would agree with that assumption.
On a micro basis, here are some facts that have piqued my interest:
TORM sells at approximately 48% to book value.  Here I mean book value ... no goodwill and other "soft" accounting inventions.
Debt is minimal.
Revenues are growing as the world economies accelerate.
Earnings tend to grow exponentially in high fixed cost businesses as demand can drop sometime obscene profits to the bottom line.
I know something about this .. I spent many years in the industrial minerals business.
The current PE is between 11 and 12.
Look for the upcoming earnings announcement to see if there is value in my comments and ALWAYS perform the necessary Due Diligence.
Good luck.
I am long 1,000 shares ..  a pimple on the posterior of my portfolio ... but I see real value.
God Bless America!
