Casual Male (Nasdaq:CMRD): Stock + 14% Today as Retail Store Numbers Posted Across Sector

Casual Male Retail Group Inc. said Thursday its profit jumped 54 percent in the fiscal second quarter as it cut back on store occupancy and merchandise costs. In the three months ended July 31, Casual Male said its profit grew to $5.6 million, or 12 cents per share, from $3.6 million, or 9 cents per share a year ago. Revenue fell 1 percent, to $97.3 million from $98.3 million.
