Since retail sales numbers look much better this year, I am more and more bullish on quality REITs. Especially I like SKT, which operates Outlet Malls. The CEO was on CNBC talking about how Outlets are good in down and up business cycles. To me it seems very logical. With mixed results that we got today, retail sales strong and Consumer confidence not so good, I really like SKT even more because of its Outlet malls. I am starting a position in it today with hope that in the future it will pullback so I can buy more. It is a serial dividend booster, and even the dividend held through 2008-2009.
This article is very interesting concerning REITs and their dividends.
