5 Hemp-Based Companies That Are Taking The Industry To New Heights

|Includes: HEMP, BioTech Hemp, Inc. (POTN)

Hemp has grown into an industry of its own thanks to companies that highlight the product as a premier item.

These hemp innovators come from various sectors.

Ritter Sport, The Body Shop, Amur, PotNetwork Holdings and Hemp, Inc. are some of the game-changers in the hemp industry.

The cannabis industry is soaring higher than ever before and it is receiving support not only from users of the plant but also from the likes of politicians, medical researchers and more. Cannabis is a broad term but it is generally the named used to classify the genus of the plant. Of all the cannabis plants out there, one that is getting the most support currently is hemp.

Hemp and marijuana are two completely different plants. Though both stem from the cannabis family, hemp is better regarded as it contains minimal amounts of the psychoactive compound tetrahydrocannabinol (THC.) Though it doesn’t get people high, the plant is still effective in providing the health benefits that cannabis is known for as it is rich in cannabidiol (CBD).

Hemp is also easier to cultivate than marijuana as it can grow in a variety of climates. Whereas marijuana needs to be kept in humid and warm temperatures. However, marijuana has a faster growth cycle that could last somewhere between 60 to 90 days. For hemp farmers, they’ll have to wait at least 30 more days for the plant to fully mature.

There are many companies that have placed hemp at the helm of their operations. These brands are putting the plant to good use and they are progressive when it comes to the development of the plant. Here are five hemp-based companies that are propelling the industry to new heights.

Ritter Sport

Ritter Sport is not a brand one would think of when hearing hemp but as with many other food and drink companies, it has decided to include cannabis in its selection of products. The new Schoko and Gras bars from Ritter Sport comes packed with hemp to help increase the popularity of the healthy and beneficial plant.

The Schoko and Gras bars were launched at 4/20 this year as a limited edition flavor from the chocolate producer. The product is the result of Ritter Sport fans who have long-requested for hemp to be added to their acclaimed chocolate and the company was very happy to oblige.

Hemp, Inc.

Hemp, Inc. is one of the pioneers in the industrial hemp industry. Ever since it was founded in 2008, Hemp has been intent on providing green solutions that help improve environmental conditions in many areas in the U.S. The primary goal of the company is to create eco-friendly and healthy hemp-based products that are viable replacements for petroleum-based items.

The company was recently awarded as the Best Hemp Company during the Best of Cannabis Awards 2017 by Cashinbis. The awards show is made to recognize the best of the best in the legal cannabis and marijuana industry and Hemp’s award is a massive addition to its list of accolades.

CEO Bruce Perlowin was proud of the award but moving forward, he wants to continue providing greener alternatives for Americans. He says “We look forward to achieving many more milestones in the year to come, and continuing our work to provide opportunities for the family farmer, veterans, and others to flourish in the multi-billion dollar hemp marketplace.”

The Body Shop

The Body Shop is the go-to company for all natural cosmetic and skin care products. It should not be a surprise anymore that the company is taking steps to add hemp to its growing collection of products. The CBD in hemp provides many benefits for the skin including acne reduction, eczema relief, and moisturization.

The Body Shop’s Hemp Body Care selection is made to provide hydration for dry skin. As with all of the company’s products, the hemp line is dermatologically tested. A best-seller from the product line is the Hemp Hand Protector. The product keeps skin moisturized for up to a day. Another popular product is the Hemp Heavy-Duty Body Moisture Protector which can be used for the entire body.

Aside from its health benefits, hemp is also used as a material in items such as rope, packaging and even clothing. New York-based clothing brand Amur is a fervent believer in the use of sustainably sourced materials for its fashion line. With that in mind, the company incorporates certified organic cotton and silk, as well as hemp fibers into the clothes it sells.

PotNetwork Holdings, Inc.

PotNetwork Holdings, Inc. (OTCMKTS:POTN) is one of the leading researchers when it comes to hemp-derived CBD. Its team is comprised of industry specialists from the several steps in the production process and they include medical experts, business professionals and more.

Aside from leading the research, POTN also extracts the naturally occurring beneficial CBD compound from premium-quality hemp. The resulting product from the supercritical CO2 extraction process is turned into a variety of items including vape oils, creams, pet food, capsules, and more. All of which are distributed to one of the leading CBD distributors, Diamond CBD, Inc.

As a distributor of high-quality CBD products, Diamond CBD has become a premier brand. During the first half of 2018, the company was able to generate a revenue of over $12 million which is more than double the numbers from the same period a year ago.

Diamond CBD is able to stand out even at major events like the premiers ASD Market Week trade show. During the most recent iteration of the trade show, the company was able to leave the show with over 400 new orders in tow.

Moving forward, POTN and Diamond CBD both hope to keep their place at the top of the hemp-derived CBD industry by consistently providing the audience with an expansive selection of products.

It is no longer a secret that the cannabis industry is growing stronger than ever before and that is a lot of good news for hemp. It is hard to tell where the hemp will be years from now but with certain companies already supporting the industry, things are looking optimistic. In time, hemp will be at the forefront of other sectors such as health and wellness, and the food industry.
