If history has taught us anything, it is that when push comes to shove, (like $8 to $12 dollars a gallon for fuel) innovation always rise’s to the top. The days of the fuel inefficient vehicles are a by-gone era, the masses need for transportation will have to evolve if they are to survive. Most economies are a population tax based society, without the masses being able to work, hence no tax base for governments to operate. So, the head in the sand attitude in the US governments energy policy will have to be changed and soon. But it will have to be something that appeases the corporations need for profits in governments.(and the lobbyists)
Remember, it is all about the money….
