Samsung Electronics Earnings Preview For 1QFY15

|Includes: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (SSNLF)

The company is expected to witness a decline in the earnings of the first quarter of the first fiscal quarter of the year.

Samsung Electronics has set itself to announce the first quarter earnings of the company on April 29, 2015. This report will be submitted by the company before the markets initiate their day's activities. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Dow Jones analysts have predicted the net profit of the Galaxy phones makers to come around $4.9 billion. This prediction has been made by around right analysts of the equity firm. This, however, shows that a dip of around 30% is being expected in the quarter that ended in March 2015.

It is also to be note that only earlier in the current month, Samsung Electronics made an expectation that the operating profit of the firm could be dropping with a massive difference to 5.9 trillion won which previously was 8.5 trillion. According to the expectations of the analysts for the revenue of the smart phone making company, a decline is predicted to follow. In the previous year's first quarter, the firm was seen reporting revenue of 53.7 trillion won whereas now the expectations have fallen by a significant change coming around to just 47 trillion won which makes it $43.7 billion in dollars.

It has also been predicted by analysts that the shipments that Samsung will be reporting for the first financial quarter will be lesser than the shipments that were made in the same quarter a year before, as per the analysis of Strategy Analytics. However, this has been predicted to change in the second fiscal quarter as the company will be launching the new S6 which promises to put a positive effect on the sales of the manufacturers.

There are some problems that have been troubling Samsung Galaxy for quite some time now. It is a fact that it is working towards increasing the production of the units it produces per quarter but due to less supply of the curved screens used in the S6 phones, the company has been unable to meet the aimed targets. Even though this issue is being trying to overcome by the smart phone producers, it is to be believed that this problem could linger for some time which could also result in being a problem for the sales.

Currently, the company's shares are trading on a share price of $1286.85 with market value at $187.81 billion.
