Alphabet Inc. made an announcement recently that it will push the testing process for its popular Google Car on the streets of Phoenix. The idea behind this endeavor is to gain additional data regarding roads and traffic complications which the company might have to deal with in the big cities throughout the continent.

Phoenix is a great location to conduct the initial testing since it offers diversity in terms of the driving conditions. As per the company, this can prove to be beneficial whilst making developments of its autonomous technology that is road legal.

The Head of Google Car Project Business Operations, Ms. Jennifer Haroon informed Reuters, "Arizona is known as a place where research and development is welcome, innovation can thrive, and companies can set up roots. The Phoenix area has distinct desert conditions, which will help us better understand how our sensors and cars handle extreme temperatures and dust in the air."

The company then ran a testing experiment in Kirkland and Austin, Mountain View. Thus the search engine giant has finally been successful to a great extent when it comes to overcoming the various situations in play whilst driving on the Texas, Washington and California roads. By testing in Phoenix the tech giant will add further to its intriguing state tally. According to the self-driven car project team, four Lexus RX450h SUVs have now started to patrol in Phoenix which is equipped with a top notch autonomous driving software provided by GOOG.

At this point, many people are actually skeptical about the progress shown by the tech giant via its autonomous car venture. The reason behind this is that, there were numerous incidents where such cars required human intervention to make decision.
