Markets Remain Hot During The First Week Of The New Year

 This morning, the S&P 500 Index futures (ES H2) are trading higher by 5.00 points to 1278.00 per contract. Typically, during the first trading week of the new year the major stock indexes will rally and that is exactly what has occurred during this first trading week of 2012. The U.S. Labor Department just released its December non-farm payroll report which was slightly better than analyst consensus. The report stated that the U.S. added 200K new jobs and the unemployment rate declined to 8.5 percent. Analysts were expecting a gain of just 155K new jobs created. The major stock indexes are reacting positive to the job number so far. As a trader it is the price action in the market that matters and not really the news.    ...Continue reading here
