Yes........ Things ARE Looking Up for (some) Publishers!

Was somewhat of a 'tongue-in-cheek' reply made by MediaMath (to Brian Morrissey - the Editor in Chief at Digiday - and, who is also a cheeseburger connoisseur) so, to both (on Twitter - it's fun) I had myself, 'tweeted' the following message off to them:

@MediaMath @bmorrissey Yet.. For many Publishers ..The Times Are indeed, a Changin' - tiny.cc/6a7xs

My own (the above) 'Tweet' was made in reply to:

Point being, pubs deserve better @bmorrissey: disturbing for publishers on exchanges. mediamath's cto: 'i've seen ads clear at zero.'

Not 'in the conversation' (apart from my own points being made), the following is what then transpired.

No one deserves opaque below the fold impressions! RT @bmorrissey: @MediaMath better than zero, yes. things are looking up for publishers!

Sara Livingston (who'd just love a job with AppNexus, I feel?) then has her say, too!

@MediaMath @bmorrissey everyone deserves better -- but crappy, low value inventory warrants low (to $0) CPMs

To which, I replied with a series of Tweets:

@saralivingston @MediaMath @bmorrissey Are you saying crappy, low value users (only?) visit such inventory? Google's figures say no. tiny.cc/i1kh2

@saralivingston @MediaMath @bmorrissey I'm reading that as being performance (user) 'engagement' ='s $$$'s tiny.cc/geg0b

@Interconnector @saralivingston @MediaMath @bmorrissey If LOOK's av RPC was $0.047 ...How much for GOOG (& others), on a CPC basis?
*********
Interconnector Ross Bradley
@saralivingston @MediaMath @bmorrissey If Looksmart garners just 10% of the total CPC there's $0.423c X's 151M paid clicks in Q3 for publishers, no?

@saralivingston @MediaMath @bmorrissey Seriously. Did Yahoo buy ICLK ($270 million) for it's profitability or, it's 'user' eye-balls, I ask?

My point is, that with Looksmart's "Performance marketing" (CPC for CPA's or, for CPV's, only), marketers shouldn't have any kind of 'beef' whatsoever as to 'wherever' they may find their target audience or, an individual user. As they ONLY ever pay for a confirmed 'action' or, that [re-]'visit' to their website offer. (One on one, stuff)

With not even a reply (at all) from these learned industry geniuses, I then posted what was my final 'tweet' (on this topic), as follows:

In business, it's fundamental to keep your friends close and your own competition even closer, no? Watch, ALL that they are doing?

As always, only an opinion.
