Looksmart: $1 - Never Again

"Collective fear stimulates herd instinct, and tends to produce ferocity toward those who are not regarded as members of the herd." - Bertrand Russell

$1 - never again -"LOOK[smart] will never trade at $1 or above again. they will soon be de-listed."

The above is the stark (& despairing) message from a totally confused shareholder, posting to the Yahoo! Finance LOOK board. Yet (in today's world - full of fear and ignorance), it's not completely unexpected.

Part of my reply to this long time suffering poster, includes:

Learn a little on what CPA/CPV really means & try to understand what is the incredible 'value proposition' that the exclusive (and over) 5B daily keywords/keyword phrases (received from Google/Yahoo/Bing search engines) actually represents, to both advertisers and publishers.

Understand more on CPA/CPV

Looksmart represent just a 'small cog' in what will be seen (over years) as being the disruption of our time-in bringing together what I posted of (back on 6/26/2009), "The creator economy that beckons". And it was the very genius of a Paul Saffo who had written: (back in 2008)

"There will eventually be a company that dwarfs Google. I don't know its name, but I know how it will grow-click by click."

We would all know (by now), this company is surely, Facebook.

Billions upon billions of dollars have already been spent (globally), in preparation for what's coming. - - Of, what lies ahead.

Here's just one example:

And from within their (AdStream's) Privacy Statement:

Adstream Australia also collects Internet Protocol (NYSE:IP) addresses. IP addresses are assigned to computers on the internet to uniquely identify them within the global network. Adstream Australia collects and manages IP addresses .......... as part of the service of providing internet session management and for security purposes.

How interesting, as Looksmart do likewise:

On Webmaster Radio, Looksmart's Benoit Vatere says, that:

....He's "dealing with the publishers" get 'that good traffic' ..,,,,,'s complex..."where the eye-balls are" ........ "how do we follow those guys ..the users.." ..."we are looking at the IP ... the individual user ..." ...."We are taking advertisers on, on a CPA basis. We own this network..... We know this traffic...we take all the risk with them..[in doing so]"

Always, only an opinion.

LOOK: At 3:59PM EDT: 0.84 Down 0.06 (6.67%) Market Cap: $14.53M and the company has $22.6M in cash? (End of Q1 -2012)

Disclosure: Long (time) in LOOK and so happy to be so.
