The first week of Q4 2017 saw a general upswing in stocks and so did my portfolio. It was up +$2,642.42 or +1.41% to finally pass the $190K total account value mark. From a net unrealized gain of +42.07% by the end of the 3rd quarter, paper capital gains now stands slightly higher at +43.27%.

Recent Holdings Changes

I reduced my position in Coca-Cola (KO) again this week by just 10 shares in order to free some money to add to the cash position which was used to reopen a different position. I am not currently a fan of KO moving forward in the near and medium term. It may still be a dividend aristocrat and might make a turn-around in the longer term, but I see other stocks that might do better with the price movement as well as dividends provided for the time being.

I re-initiated a minor position of 70 shares in Uniti Group (UNIT). Added to my cost basis though is a disallowed lost amount of ~$300, thus diminishing my recent short term realized loss in UNIT; yet, it did increase my cost basis price from my buy price. And with the recent drop in price last Friday, I plan to hopefully average down my cost basis the coming week near the 15 or 14 levels.

Prospective Re-initiation & Addition This Coming Week

I plan to re-open a position in Antares Pharma (ATRS). Sadly, I missed the recent run, but I still believe substantial upside is still on the horizon. Hopefully, I would be able to average down if the price goes lower temporarily. An article published last Monday was bullish on ATRS pointing out numerous upcoming catalysts.

I also plan to add to my minor re-initiated Uniti Group (UNIT) position and average down my current cost basis as well.

Skipped Position Addition

I was previously looking forward to add the latest publicly traded data center stock Switch (SWCH) to my portfolio on its first trading day. But after reading articles online beforehand and even after, including those on Seeking Alpha, I decided to join investors who are not entering at the very beginning and are taking a wait & see approach before deciding to enter at all (if yes, hopefully the price would be reasonable enough below current price, growth would accelerate, and concerns surrounding its structure would be answered).

For the meantime, data center stocks I am looking forward to initiate in the future are US-based data center REITS QTS or Coresite (COR), international DC REIT Equinix (EQIX), or Chinese data center provider GDS Holdings Ltd (GDS). Another data center provider based in Europe also came up on my radar thanks to the comments section in one of SWCH's articles - InterXion Holding N.V. (INXN). I am still to read more about it before deciding on my action towards it. Nonetheless, I am of course maintaining my hold on my currently owned DC REITs Digital Realty (DLR) and CyrusOne (CONE).
