Palantir Is A Buy

Summary
- I have been long PLTR since the DPO, my family fund is also long and we have it as overweight and long term outperform.
- On 01/22/2021, Palantir's shares jumped 25%, amongst other things, in anticipation of Demo Day on a massive volume spike.
- Palantir is a buy today for the long term investor and the short term trader.
- This is not a serious investment article, though I fancy myself as a semi-serious investor; I am doing this as a personal experiment.
I have addressed my bull thesis and fundamentals for PLTR in my pre-DPO presentation, here are just some notes. This blog is more an experiment for me than anything else.
Palantir is a high conviction holding for us and Friday was another feather in the bull thesis cap:
So maybe we have some price support in the meantime, but we are more interested in where it is going. Palantir has continued to execute by making more deals and likely will continue to extend its reach and strengthen its moat. As this is not a substantive investment piece, here's a peek at my take at the technicals:
Momentum begets momentum in price action and fundamentals as well, after a big run in less than 4 months, can there be any more near term upside? Considering general market sentiment still weighted towards tech growth stocks but leery of a market correction/rollover, is Palantir reasonably valued compared to its peers?
Still seems lofty but within its space, Palantir possesses a scarcity factor and by my growth metrics is still reasonably priced compared to its trend and high-performing peers. Certainly not for conservative investors; but now I think Palantir is a new buy/add for aggressive investors and some moderately aggressive investors as a new position or add-on with weakness.
One could sell just OTM puts here, hedge with a "disaster" put or even a bullish call spread if not interested in adding common shares here.
Likely market and company stock price volatility will continue in particular with lock up expiry and earnings coming in March. This should benefit those with a clear plan that can stomach decent risk adjusted returns here with individual goals in mine.
Palantir is a long term buy or at least short term trade for our family investor groups aforementioned.
Happy Investing!
