There is no means of avoiding the final collapse of a boom brought about by credit expansion. The alternative is only whether the crises should come sooner as the result of a voluntary abandonment of further credit expansion, or later as a final and total catastrophe of the currency system involved.

 - Ludwig von Mises.

INDEX VIEW

Once again today we are not able to upload our charts -- this makes our report much less useful.  Weekly charts are discounting any selling in most indexes.  This says to us that the Fed's ponzi scheme is continuing full bore.  We call this a ponzi scheme because Ben Bernanke is clearly funding this rally with money that will need to be paid back eventually by our born and unborn grandchildren -- all for the sake of preserving the illusion of our own comfort and security today.  This ploy is not much different than Bernie Madoff's in fact: Bernie made the last-in pay for the first-in, which is what Ben is doing today.

Daily charts are showing most stocks approaching new highs: DRG, the Pharmaceutical Index, seems to have broken out of a trading range, much as the gold stocks did last week.  With earnings season coming again, we can expect to see a lot of high-charged type-a energy pumped into actual earnings gain or illusory 'better than we expected' earnings disappointments.

It would be nice to find out who is behind the attack on SA's servers -- I'm not going to start speculating as this would lead to nothing but more paranoid energy.  So let's wait until we find something concrete.  Perhaps we'll never know.  Who doesn't like the free interchange of opinions on American business in an era of exposure of corporate lies and malfeasance.

The three ultrashorts we are saying have bottomed are also holding their own still above support levels.  Any strength these three anti-stocks ETFs show is bearish for the market generally.  They are all three oversold near support and should begin rallying if selling is to kick in.  We think they will have trouble rallyiing in the current scenario.

KEY: COLUMN 1: SYMBOL OF INDEX/ETF; COLUMN 2: M2F ALT = short-term momentum: above 70 = overbought; below 30 = oversold; COLUMN 3: 'TRADE" = current position using M4 Sum Plus Trade System.  COLUMN 4: "TREND" = short-term trend DIRECTION: above 0 is positive; below 0 is negative.  COLUMN 5: "M4 SP+" = issues with at least 2 consecutive days of positive M4 Sum Plus will register a 1.  COLUMN 6: 'M4 SP -" = issues with at least 2 consecutive days of negative M4 Sum Plus will register a 1.   COLUMN 7: "INT MOM" = M5 Average Sum Plus, which is an intermediate-term momentum indicator: 1 is positive; -1 is negative.  COLUMN 8: "LTERM MOM" = MA 40 Sum Plus, which is a long-term momentum indicator: +1 is positive; -1 is negative.  COLUMN 9: Name of Index.
