It might provide food for thought … and portfolio awareness.
Stock futures surged on Tuesday, 9/27/11 taking a lead from strong gains in EU markets; bolstered by hopes for action surrounding the sovereign debt crisis.
Futures on the Dow rose 129 points to 11,104, and those on the S&P’s 500 index gained 14.10 points to 1,172.80. Futures on the Nasdaq 100 index added 24.75 points to 2,220.75. The moves came as Asian and European stocks rallied, with the Stoxx Europe 600 index up nearly 3% to 226.43 Asian stocks gained sharply after reports that policy makers are considering new plans to support EU countries struggling with debt fueled hope that a solution could be in sight.
