US stock futures rise ahead of jobs, ISM data, Wednesday, 10/5/11as EU markets posted solid gains and as investors awaited data on the labor market and services sector.
Futures on the Dow gained 74 points to 10,757. Futures on the S&P’s 500 stock index rose 9.30 points to 1,122.90 and NASDAQ 100 futures advanced 13.25 points to 2,126.70.
EU stock markets also gained, with the pan-European Stoxx 600 index rising 2.2% and Germany’s DAX 30 index climbing 3.6%. Japanese and Korean shares extended their recent losses Wednesday, with foreign selling reportedly high, but gains for resource shares lifted the Australian market.
