Day 15 brought no cash coming in but I did buy 4 stocks. The good news is that there's $574.00 of dividends to be captured with these four stocks tomorrow.
Here's what happened today:
1) Bought BEP (Brookfield Renewal Partners) - 233 shares @ $32.05. The dividend to be captured is $109.51. The stock settled at $31.91, down $.14 from where I bought it.
2) Bought NEWT (Newtek Business Services) - 425 shares @ $17.55. The dividend to be captured is $170.00. The stock settled at $17.50, down $.05 from where I bought it.
3) Bought BPY (Brookfield Property Partners) - 337 shares @ $22.39. The dividend to be captured is $101.11. The stock settled at $22.36, down $.03 from where I bought it.
4) Bought TPVG (Triplepoint Venture Growth) - 543 shares @ $13.77. The dividend to be captured is $195.48. The stock settled at $13.78, up $.01 from where I bought it.
I'm basically starting at zero to a little down at the opening on Friday morning. Of course, I would prefer to have a little cushion but today the market had an up trend so I had to buy them higher than I preferred.
As I explained yesterday, when the overall market is to open higher, I generally give it a bit of time after the open to let it settle. I'm glad I did because I was able to get all the stocks at a better price than at the open by being patient.
Tomorrow, I'll be busy watching things closely. As of now (9:30pm central), the futures are flat so it will be critical to get a good price. I'll be patient but I won't wait for the stock to "get well" during the day. I'll dump out and I won't wait too long.
So far, the total remains at $1,042.92 for a 15 day average of $69.53. Well below my goal of $100/day but I've had several days of no selling/collecting captured dividends. Of the days that I did have stocks (12), my average is $86.91. But...that's not how I'm keeping track!
Until tomorrow, happy trading!
