During the past 10 years, only 2008, 2005, and 2000 were down Octobers for the S&P 500.
Since 1950, there have been 36 up Octobers, and 23 down Octobers. The average return has been a little less than a half percent.
So 10-year stock market returns might stink, but don’t blame it on October.
