My Favorite Stock with a Funny Name

|Includes: Becton, Dickinson and Company (BDX)

Will BDX announce annual dividend boost #37 within days? Count on it.

Bulls see a bargain in this high quality healthcare Stock That Buffett Owns, though bears question its growth potential.

For analysis and story links, see my Seeking Alpha article “With a Name Like Becton Dickinson . . .” published September 17 (link below).

Note: In the interest of readability, the original article left out a number of stocks with funny names.

Some of the names left out might be even funnier than some that were included. I mean, I’m pretty sure Star Gas (NYSE:SGU) is a funnier name than Airgas (ARG), and Orbotech (NASDAQ:ORBK) is funnier than Orthovita (Pending:VITA), but is Tootsie Roll (NYSE:TR) really funnier than LoopNet (NASDAQ:LOOP)?

Rounding out the list might be: Boots & Coots (WEL); Fannie Mae (FNM) and Freddie Mac (FRE), two sad companies with funny names; Gander Mountain (GMTN); Kewaunee Scientific (NASDAQ:KEQU); ALL CAPS twins MEDNAX (NYSE:MD) and ORBCOMM (NASDAQ:ORBC); Millipore (MIL); Oshkosh (NYSE:OSK); Safe Bulkers (NYSE:SB), and some I no doubt missed.

But Becton Dickinson is still my favorite. To see why, follow the link below.
