Net earnings were $146 million for the second quarter ended July 31, 2010. This represented an increase of 38.6 percent compared with net earnings of $105 million for the same quarter last year.

Aflac Incorporated (NYSE: AFL) board of directors declared the third quarter cash dividend.  The third quarter dividend of $.28 per share is payable on September 1, 2010, to shareholders of record at the close of business on August 18, 2010.

The Board of Directors of The McGraw-Hill Companies (NYSE: MHP)  approved a regular quarterly cash dividend on the Corporation's common stock. The dividend of $0.235 is payable on September 10, 2010, to shareholders of record on August 26, 2010.
