These operations have proved that stimulation will produce gas to surface in the zones being evaluated.
The High Cliff Sandstone, Irwin River Coal Measures and Carynginia Formation have all demonstrated the necessary indicators for ongoing evaluation.
Norwest added that it continues to make satisfactory progress with the clean up and flow back of Stage 3 and 4 of the program, which fracced the Lower Carynginia Formation (between 2890 metres and 2940 metres) and Middle Carynginia Formation (between 2824 metres and 2875 metres).
The two stages are consistently producing gas and returning injected fluids to surface.
Norwest is currently preparing to carry out the fifth and final stage of the program, the fracture stimulation of the Kockatea Shale over the interval from 2639 metres to 2681 metres.
The Kockatea is a well known hydrocarbon source rock in the Perth Basin and is believed to have the potential to host condensate.
Operations, which include fraccing and flow back of the Kockatea, are expected to take another one or two weeks.
Once this is completed and the campaign equipment is demobilised, the joint venture will start evaluating the results of the program to determine further activities.
