Laconia Resources Appoints Nick Shakesby To Lead Rasuhuilca To Production

Laconia Resources (ASX: LCR) has appointed Nick Shakesby as Chief Operating Officer - Peru, with
the key appointment to progress the Rasuhuilca Project to production.

Shakesby is a qualified Mine Manager and holds an MBA from PACE University, New York, which is complemented by more than 25 years' experience in mine development and operation in Latin America, the United States, Southeast Asia, Australia and Africa.

Most recent experience includes, recovery planning and implementation and successfully bringing both precious metal and bulk commodity projects through to production in Africa and Peru respectively.

Ian Stuart, managing director, commented: "The appointment of a Chief Operating Officer - Peru is a key step in the development of Rasuhuilca. Mr Shakesby has extensive expertise in development and operation in Peru and his experience with local employees, contractors and other stakeholders will be important for Laconia as the Company progresses to production."

A Feasibility Study was completed at Rasuhuilca 2008 and Laconia aims to bring it into production as a high-grade, small-tonnage operation, and utilise the project's revenues to unlock its exploration upside.
