Great Quest Metals said Monday it has nominated a new director, Gordon Peeling, to be elected to its board at the company's annual general meeting in Toronto, on June 10.
Mr. Peeling just retired from a 13 year stint as president of the Mining Association of Canada (NYSE:MAC), and was named as one of Canada’s top 100 lobbyists.
Prior to Joining MAC, Mr. Peeling served as vice president at the International Council on Metals and the Environment, as well as Director General of the Mineral Commodities Branch at Natural Resources Canada. He has more than 30 years of mining experience in both private and public sectors.
"The election of Mr. Peeling to the Board will add a further valuable dimension and international perspective to the Board of Directors as the company expands its exploration activities in Mali," the company said in a statement on Monday.
Mr. Peeling's nomination comes alongside the recommendation of six existing directors of the company, also up for election at the upcoming meeting in June.
